That said, they are not approving recreation good cause applications (according to my interviewing deputy) but give it a try regardless.
Thorough response--thanks. The three firearms I've put on initial application is no longer my pick with exception to one

Yes, so glad that we live in CA with its DOJ Roster and limited firearm options. Not!! Going private party transfer to obtain at exorbitant pricing what is readily available in free states is downright ridiculous.

I mailed my application in May 2021, Interview in Late October 2021. I completed my LiveScan on Nov 5th, waited 12 weeks and no word from LASD. Emailed them on Feb 14th asking for an update and they replied "your applications is in process with DOJ, be patient." 2 days later I get an email instructing me to take my CCW training class and I took m CCW class a few days later and submitted the certificate of training via email last week. Got an email back confirming receipt of docs and instructions that it would take 2-4 weeks to complete the final step before receiving notice to pick up my CCW license.

I think they're backed up big time and it's taking 12-14+ weeks to process Livescans. If you haven't heard from them after 12 weeks then email them respectfully asking for an update. Sometimes your file may have come back from DOJ, like mine and is sitting in a stack waiting for processing.

[QUOTE=IFellOfASofaAgain;26670836]I completed my interview on 2/17 and was given the form to complete the Live Scan which I did that same day. This discrepancy has been addressed earlier in this discussion. The Live Scan is completed and viewable online within one to several weeks depending on how busy the DOJ may be. However, if you recall on the Live Scan application the LASD CCW Unit mailing address is listed, not an email or internet address. So the longer time quoted by the deputy refers to the DOJ getting around to generating a paper report, mailing it to the LASD CCW Unit, then the CCW unit processing it, finding your application and deciding whether or not your GC is satisfactory and they can then send you to training.

I forget, were you previously denied for GC? Or was yours one of the applications that was presumably lost?

Best of luck on round 2. I think it is likely that by the time a decision is made, SCOTUS will have declared GC requirements to be unconstitutional. Then it will remain to be seen how State and local officials react. I suspect the State will escalate to new levels of obstruction. AV's response is unclear. He has made it clear that he is not in favor of Shall Issue so what will he do?
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

Smart of Seaweed to get his application in now so it will be at the top of the pile when the SCOTUS decision comes out. If you wait for the decision to come out, you will be at the bottom of the huge pile of applications people file when they hear about it.

@Vader, this^^^ and I do not feel my safety is worth the gamble of an additional 5 months on top of the likely 10-11 this process will otherwise take. I have too much to lose and nothing to gain by waiting another 5 months. The risk of me being targeted has surpassed the point I consider to be a change in circumstance, so the sooner I can get my hat in the ring again the better.
