Are there really internet CCW certification classes?
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

The more time I spend on this forum, the more sense kcbrown makes.

The classroom portion is done online. You'll still need to go to the range and shoot the qualifier.

Now comes the fight with the BoS over funding. With the CCW Unit running smoothly AV can truly says he’s read to issue CCWs to virtually all law-abiding residents to counter any crime wave cause by budget cuts. He won’t be bluffing and the BoS will know it. Now is when things get interesting....

If that “full briefing” is at a public meeting or public virtual meeting (Zoom), as many CGNers as possible should attend and support Villanueva.
As to the underlined, and taking into consideration that you are up north. LASD and the BoS, has NOTHING to do with anything that happens in Venice Bch.

Which is part of the CITY OF LA. Controlled and patrolled by LAPD. And under the control of Mayor Garcetti and the LA City Council.

As to the bolded, Given that "V" has gone from NO ISSUE to SOME ISSUE. I have gone from [cynical to skeptical]. That he will go "SHALL ISSUE" as you seem to state he has.

Good catch re VB being part of the City of LA.

No, I’ll never say AV has gone Shall Issue because neither he nor any CA sheriff (or CoP) can change state law and drop the GC requirement. At best I’ll say they’ve gone “virtual Shall Issue” (vSI), where they’ll accept “self defense” or “personal protection” as sufficient GC for issuing a CCW.

I just sent a letter to Supervisor Barger's office urging her to support the sheriff's recent CCW reforms. I urge the rest of you to do the same.

Is that realistically what dark green on the map signifies? How many counties in CA would you classify as reliably vSI? Is that their publicly stated policy?

Yep. Most of CA counties run this way (+50%).

I got my interview call at 9 in the morning. Others have reported as late as 6 so it seems to be between normal business hours.

Let's see how the rest goes. A coworker just finished interviewing & he gave me a pretty thorough run down of the questions he got from LASD.

                              Have you ever driven drunk/high?
Do you live with any restricted people or felons?
Have you ever had a restraining order filed against you?
Have you ever had road rage?
                              Have you ever been arrested?
Gotten into an argument with neighbor?
                              Have records expunged?
                              Smoke marijuana?
Have you worked illegally under the table?
