I submitted my application directly to Hall of Justice on 4/1, got the call to set up an interview yesterday (5/26), and interviewed just this morning. We're getting there, slowly but surely.

Yellow GC - I work as a armed guard in the DTLA area nearby the courthouses, and due to the location of my workplace and style of uniform my employer requires me to wear, I would be frequently mistaken as a LASD SO. The deputy who conducted my interview put heavy emphasis on the portion of my GC statement regarding the high volume of transients/vagrants in the area, as well as the likelihood of coming across an irate court-goer.

Any military in here apply at LASD and have a past diagnosis of PTSD? I have been diagnosed, been in therapy off and on, can still purchase, own and posses firearms, have not ever been found to be a danger to myself or others, have no arrests or citations. I noticed the DOJ app doesn't ask about it, but in the Interviewers Q&A area it does. Do I need to bring any records from the VA if I get that far?

4/21 live scanned (DOJ FBI completed same day)
5/16 Training completed
5/19 live scan fully completed
5/19 training cert submitted and acknowledged
5/26 call from LASD to go pick up license
5/27 license obtained

Thanks to paladin and all the other members for the information provided. My gamble of taking the CCW training before getting the green light paid off and cut a lot of waiting time out.
