You picked up an application? Like an actual paper application?
As of right now apps are being done online unless you printed out and mailed a paper application from the LASD website before all these changes happened post Bruen. When did you apply or submit your application?

I went there to talk to any officer about the process and he gave me an application...I did mine online around sept 2023

I'm sorry, but something just doesn't add up here and doesn't sound like LASD.

You first mentioned of 40 days til your appointment (interview?).

Now you are saying you did your app online around Sept 2023, but you went to talk to any officer about the process and you were given an application.

AFAIK I don't even think LASD is even through with July or August applicants and their interview or even getting interviews yet. So for you to supposedly get an (interview?) appointment in about 40 days being that you did an online app back in Sept of 2023 doesn't add up.

No one really gets informed of when they will get their appt (interview), it will just happen randomly down the long road of waiting.

I remember that I was informed that I could go into a LASD station and obtain an application. I was told that they didn't have them there when I asked in person.
I heard that the new online process does give you the option to pick the date of your interview but those were being pushed back because the CCW Unit was over whelmed.
Bangzoom, I don't think you're going to hear from them for a while. You're about 14 months behind me (application dates). I had my interview earlier this year. I wouldn't expect to have an interview for at least another 6 to 8 months. I mentioned this before, and that's that the # of application has grown substantially. The delay between applicants is going to become wider and wider for those who applied after 06/22 to the end of 2023. Hopefully they'll get more staff but I doubt it.
They're probably going to delay your interview if it's supposed to happen within the next few months. I hope they don't but they probably will. :-(

Bangzoom can you give a more detailed description of your process e.g. how did you apply (in person, online), where are you getting the info that your interview is coming up? Things like this will help us. This is the place to ask if youre going through the process with LASD.

Just received my call for pick up date for the 23rd had nothing sooner. Sent in my training May 4th. Original application was 07/22

It's nice to see us July 2022 applicants are getting movement. I sent my training docs 5/12/2024. Based on Taskerasns09's timeline it's nearing the end of my 2 year journey.

Submitted my application in-person at Temple station 09/10/2022. Still no interview call ?
Emailed the CCW unit and the response was that I will be contacted once I've been assigned an investigator.

I'll be moving to a different city in 3-4 months where they have their own PD handling CCWs... starting to think that might be the faster route...

Yeah I'd say you get your call this upcoming week. They did say they had no available appointments for pick up before the 23rd though.

I wouldnt be so sure about that. Most of the guys getting calls to pickup right now submitted training beginning of April. Although, there is the anomoly of Taskerasns09

Most cities have a MUCH faster processing time than LASD. The difference is how much youre paying or what do you have to do to complete the process. For example some cities charge close to $1100 in fees to obtain (this includes training at the lowest available price), some do mandatory psych eval.
