I mailed my app on 6/28 and the cashiers check wasn't cashed until 9/28. To date I haven't heard a thing from LASD.
On the spreadsheet database, we have a pretty decent sample size (relatively speaking) for March 2022 submissions and the average time between mailed date and call for interview is 294 days.
Being a June 2022 applicant, I'm 315 days from mail date and 223 days from the date my check was cashed.
For anyone interested, I'd encourage you to enter your timeline information on the spreadsheet in my signature - it'd be nice to also hear if there's any updates on pick up dates for members that were close to the finish line in the process:

I applied for my ccw from LASD back in July 2022. I haven't heard anything from anyone at LASD. I took my application to a station and they took payment via debit card. Is it normal for it to take this long? I already have a ccw from LAPD, so I don't really care at this point, but is it normal for it to take this long from LASD? ThanksComment

Seems a little long, but around 8-10 months for interview seems normal. If you have yours from LAPD, you will not get one from LASD, so I would email them saying you are withdrawing your application, so thats one less for them to deal withI applied for my ccw from LASD back in July 2022. Took me over a year after application submission before they contacted me for an interview. So your timeline doesn?t surprise me at all.I applied for my ccw from LASD back in July 2022. I submitted mines and it was received in July 2022 also? as much as I am waiting for an interview call my hopes isn?t as high until it gets near June-August of this year. I?m already anticipating the long wait from reading this thread since page 1.I applied for my ccw from LASD back in July 2022. I haven't heard anything from anyone at LASD. I submitted my training docs exactly 2 minutes after receiving the PTT email on 5/6. Got a call today from 'Unknown' number and thought it was my pickup call, which was very wishful thinking.
It was the Sheriff however, and they let me know they received my training docs and it was being sent up for final signature which is taking 3 weeks currently. She said once it came back from "upstairs" I would get a call scheduling pickup which would be about 2 weeks after that.
So it looks like they are running 5 weeks from training received to call for pick up, which of course is based on what I was told today, and may not apply to those before/after today.LA County CCW Timeline:
3/28/22- Dropped off application in person
4/11/22- Money Order cashed
1/4/23- Interview
5/6/23- PTT
5/10/23- Training Received (phone call)
5/27/23- Call for pick-up
6/15/23- Pick UpComment

I delivered my app in July to a local station. The check was cashed 3 days later by the local station (based off the signature on check-back).
I'm curious how this plays out for me regarding when I was "put in the system".Comment

Seems there are TONS of variables here and it's just super tough to compare one person's situation to another. I dropped my application at my local station. Check was cashed within a week but took a year until I was called for an interview.
Best I can tell based on other posts in this thread is that your check cashing doesn't really tell you anything. But, it does seem that people who sent their apps directly to the CCW unit got a jump on those of us who went to our local station. The common thinking here is that the local station may cash your check quickly but may not actually get your app to the CCW unit all that quickly. But that's just speculation based on anecdotal evidence from this thread.Comment

I applied pre-Bruen in March. I got my call for interview in March.
I was honestly losing my patience too because it seemed like nine months was the average. Supposedly, they're slowing down applications to take care of renewals. Patience is the key.Comment
