I wont deny some people 'associated' with cannabis may cause problems, but many people in many situations cause problems. Its the people. There are many people who are 'associated' with cannabis that don't cause problems.

And I agree, I think our gun laws are screwed up too. I think sentences are all inconsistent and out of whack too, for various crimes. There is a lot of work that needs to be done..

Not true. I have anywhere from 2-8 beers a year... Most of the time, it's a Sam Adams, and it's because I like the taste of it with a nice rib eye. I drink alcohol for taste... Not for a head change. Only twice in my life, have I consumed alcohol for the purpose of getting drunk and making an *** of myself.

Not cancer? maybe when stats are in after a few more decades of use, too early to tell. Just think how long it took to link tobacco to cancer. But it does cause many other respiratory aliments. Many links to evidence. This is just one of dozens.

No mention of cancer in the article. Putting smoke in your lungs is bad, whether marijuana causes cancer has never been proven and there is no evidence to lead to it.

However when you chew tobacco it still can give you cancer. Like I said vaporizers are recommended

Ever heard of Sir Richard Branson? The Virgin empire guy? He's open about the fact that he smokes a lot of weed. Who are you to judge someones work ethic?

Just like it doesn't create famous musicians or engineers or entrepreneurs, it doesn't bring them down either. That is their own doing, up and down.

Legal to possess and use but not to be under the influence while operating a motor vehicle.

Pot is harmless. Pot should also be 100% legal. No one in this thread has provided any logical explanation as to why pot is harmful or why it should be illegal. Saying that it can be abused and someone could get in a car and kill you while high and/or drunk is an emotionally fueled argument that is irrelevant to pot itself.

Guns should be banned. People can get mad and/or drunk and shoot someone. see the logic yet?

What you forget is "impairment". When drugs (to include alcohol) is consumed, it alters the brain/reflexes/motor skills. Someone who drives while under the influence of pot will not have the same judgment/ability to drive a car as someone who's not on pot. This is reality, not an "emotionally fueled argument".

In the end there is nothing anyone can say to you regarding pot use which will change your mind. You will have to wait until someone under the influence fails to see the red light at the intersection and broadsides the car you are in. Unfortunately, sometimes this is the only way people will get the message.

No man, whats bogus is that cops are given huge budgets to enforce laws against a plant. I know it sounds repetitive, but its a plant. I want you to do some research, TRY and find a proven instance in all of the earths documented history where pot, and pot alone has killed someone, it doesn't cause cancer, doesn't lower sperm count, doesn't make you stupid. Yes, I completely agree in that this state is wrong to deny rights to decent guns. But if they WERE to tax it they would make around a billion dollars a year. Marijuana is cali's number ONE cash crop, second is grapes. so you see just how much we cold tax it AND on the other hand, eventually put into our cops salaries so they can go do their jobs instead of arresting someone and giving them a record for using pot to relax a little or get rid of the occasional headache. We talk about common sense on here when it comes to gun laws. Why not with this? there are FAR more deadly drugs than weed, caffeine kills more. "terrorists" kill, not pot. just my opinion, there is nothing i hate more than a person who bashes peaceful people because of whats illegal, its uncivil and needs to STOP.

And when you think about it, let me ask you one thing. In your line of work, how many times do you see gang shootings or stabbings, whatever over people selling booze to someone else or selling tobacco. even coffee, which IS a mind altering substance and has withdrawal symptoms when using it for a long time and you stop. It just doesnt happen, you dont see people dying over a pack of ciggs, or a couple bottles of beer, or someones damn espresso. WHY? because all that stuff is legal.

If you look at crime statistics for major metropolitan areas, most of the shootings and home invasions are marijuana related. Pot is not trivial. Kids are now learning that marijuana is ok. It is not ok. It is a brain altering substance that dumbs people and causes lung cancer.

The THC contents are high and it has absolutely no health benefits. It is a cure for NOTHING.

How come there are huge campaigns against the tobacco companies? Yet Marijuana is more toxic to the body, causes lung cancer, and inhibits a persons abilities to drive and operate equipment. Yet there is no left wing campaign against marijuana, just the cigarette companies.

The activists who love to smoke marijiuana hate the cigarette companies?? How does that make sense?

Also the grow process is an environmental hazard and destroys property with huge mold problems.

So I have a career job and a second business. The government taxes the hell out of me and I can barely hold my head above water. I do everything legal, yet I lost my house, took a cut in pay, and still work full time.

The jack hole down the street at the marijuana collective is raking in millions at a non-profit rate. He is stoned and collects welfare while he drives a BMW 735. HE can afford the $15k a month lease on his space because that is chump change for him. He sells marijuana, it is not DONATION.

98% of the people i come into contact with who have a physicians card have headaches, back pain, or attention deficit disorder. I have only met about 2% who actually have a serious ailment like cancer. Most cancer patients undergo radiation and Kemotherapy and do not smoke marijuana. The whole thing is a sham!

I know how you feel about the whole honest man trying to make a living part and watching scamers get ahead.

Who are you to judge someones work ethic?

As it has been said here, we deal with the effects of this all the time... When I encounter someone who has a prop 215 card for flatulence, has a sate disability check stub, and just got down skiing for 8 hours, I think I say that clown has a crappy work ethic.

Or what about a HS friend who got 4.0 gpa, 3 sport athlete, while working 30 hours a week, goes to college, becomes addicted, and hasn't worked a day in 4 years. He collects...You guessed it, .gov assistance for his "back". I have seen him do things that a person who collects .gov checks for back issues should not be doing.

I'm not one to judge everything or everone, but when it quacks like a duck, walks and looks like one too... It's a duck.
