The THC contents are high and it has absolutely no health benefits. It is a cure for NOTHING.

How come there are huge campaigns against the tobacco companies? Yet Marijuana is more toxic to the body, causes lung cancer, and inhibits a persons abilities to drive and operate equipment. Yet there is no left wing campaign against marijuana, just the cigarette companies.

The activists who love to smoke marijiuana hate the cigarette companies?? How does that make sense?

Also the grow process is an environmental hazard and destroys property with huge mold problems.

So I have a career job and a second business. The government taxes the hell out of me and I can barely hold my head above water. I do everything legal, yet I lost my house, took a cut in pay, and still work full time.

The jack hole down the street at the marijuana collective is raking in millions at a non-profit rate. He is stoned and collects welfare while he drives a BMW 735. HE can afford the $15k a month lease on his space because that is chump change for him. He sells marijuana, it is not DONATION.

98% of the people i come into contact with who have a physicians card have headaches, back pain, or attention deficit disorder. I have only met about 2% who actually have a serious ailment like cancer. Most cancer patients undergo radiation and Kemotherapy and do not smoke marijuana. The whole thing is a sham!
So, you are going to turn a blind eye to Big Phama and all their drugs? Mood-altering, liver-destroying drugs?

Pot is a joke compared to Big Phama.........whose to thank for the meth problem in the first place.

It is pretty sad that our so called "free" society in 2011 is so immature that something as trivial as pot is such a debatable topic.

Pharmaceutical companies tend to also be against legalization simply because pot would instantly make a number of products obsolete. They would instantly lose market share and would be forced to have to re-tool, produce, and market new drugs. This would cost those companies a ton of money, and would be a gamble if they can re-control the same market again. Why would they want that? They are making a killing now on currently legal drugs (as addictive and harmful as they may be).

It's safer. Booze is the biggest cause of domestic violence and drunk driving. Not too many people smoking pot get violent and mean... they usually stay home eating cheetos and watch comedy. It is fallacy to legalize booze and not Pot, and even though Pot is no cure, if people are in pain and in chemo, pot at least gives them an appetite and kills some of the pain. The reason MJ crime is so high is simple: it's illegal.
Legalize it and tax it, and sell it, and stop making it a crime.
Unfortunately, you can't tell someone high on pot to stay home and not operate a motor vehicle. More often than not people smoking pot often drink booze as well so now you have a high and drunk person operating motor vehicle. You see it all the time at many high school/college parties.

Whether it was alcohol, prescription medication, or marijuana

I guess in this case marijuana is considered a prescription medication

Can't they be tested and given a DUI?

Doctors who give out these prescription medications like candy should come under more scrutiny

That's exactly where we are at. A test would need to be developed to test for DUI. People under the influence driving is a concern, many are poor drivers before they toke up much less after. Something has to be developed for a quick test.

Pot users, stay home or at a friends, listen to some tunes. Stay off my streets. Use a designated driver.

Pot does not contain any addictive chemicals. If someone is addicted to pot, then it is a mental addiction and this can happen with anything.

Some of the most motivated and successful people I know use pot recreationally. They also drink recreationally, and have other hobbies they enjoy. If you enjoy it, and its not harming others, it should be your choice. I have yet to see any logical argument on why pot should be illegal.
Until they drive a car after using pot and hit/kill you (they often don't think their driving skill are impaired). It's a drug which alters your mind. You can't stop someone who is going to smoke it and get behind the wheel.

                    Exactly.

Not to mention how powerful Big Phama is on the Hill.......sickening.

And America's children are suffering the worst. There are many documentary films out there covering this, if anyone cares to know.

Pot is harmless. Pot should also be 100% legal. No one in this thread has provided any logical explanation as to why pot is harmful or why it should be illegal. Saying that it can be abused and someone could get in a car and kill you while high and/or drunk is an emotionally fueled argument that is irrelevant to pot itself.

Guns should be banned. People can get mad and/or drunk and shoot someone. see the logic yet?

Not cancer? maybe when stats are in after a few more decades of use, too early to tell. Just think how long it took to link tobacco to cancer. But it does cause many other respiratory aliments. Many links to evidence. This is just one of dozens.

A new study finds that the development of bullous lung disease occurs in marijuana smokers approximately 20 years earlier than tobacco smokers. A condition often caused by exposure to toxic chemicals or long-term exposure to tobacco smoke, bullous lung disease (also known as bullae) is a condition where air trapped in the lungs causes obstruction to breathing and eventual destruction of the lungs.
