I guess the real question is why do you feel the need to medicate yourself?Sorry Mr. Closed mind, too bad that glass of harmless wine kills more brain cells than a joint.
This thread is hilarious. Enhance the flavor of my food.
The funny part is I have a good career and an education, yet my smoking kills my drive?
The owner of the company I work for smokes, what a rich loser. LMAO
OPEN YOUR MINDS SHEEPIE
If life is so good why consume a drug meant to numb and tranquilize?
Wine has offsetting health effects.
How does consuming the hundreds of toxic compounds found in marijuana smoke make you more healthy?Poke'm with a stick!

Why take Ibuprofen? Why take Vicoden? Why drink? It is to escape the daily pains andfrustration we all face. How one does it is his/her own business. Please list the hundreds of toxic compunds. Also please tell me that you dont believe a cigarette is more harmful.Comment

Please don"t try and tell me that MJ does not have medical benefits. I watched my 6 ft 4, 190 lb 22 year old go down to 125 because of Chemo. He couldn't keep down a glass of milk. His oncologist reccomended the pot...Immediate results. Appetite came back and what he ate he could keep down. Making it legal is a GOOD thing. Keep the $ out of the hands of the cartels and make a buck on taxes...its a win win. Law enforcement has tried to eliminate it for 50 years ,spent billions and failed miserably. Face it, its gonna happen.Comment

Every day I read about police brutality, should this unbalanced source of information be taken to account for all police? There are always exceptions. Poisons don't kill everyone who consumes them. However marijuana has ruined far far more lives that it has helped. Source cited?
LEO's see the ruined lives of of many chronic marijuana users on a far more regular basis than anyone else. Especially the effect it has on younger peoples lives.
No I don't support legalization.
No.
Because for every 100 cops out there doing there job, the 3 jackasses that mess up get on TV, not the cops saving lives. I know I won't be presented with a fair account of police. As such police should understand their job is to take care of the negative people in society, not the positives. Therefore they should not be shocked when they see bad ****.
So if you want to perceive all marijuana users as losers with no lives so be it. But don't be angry when your treated in kind based off your co-workers actions. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.Comment

I don't hear too much about the alcohol and tobacco cartels killing each other and hundreds of illegal tobacco grows or hidden stills in the national forests.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

right, I know that there are some stills run in the hills back east, but AFAIK, it isn't as big an issue as the cartels running the MJ grows. that was my main point. legalize it and most of your operations transfer to the corps like Coors, Jack Daniels, etc vs. the redneck cartel. Legalize MJ and the cartels get to compete against Marlboro. Is your average MJ user gonna deal with a back alley drug dealer (where he might get ripped off or sold junk weed) or is he gonna go to his local 7-11 and buy a pack of Marlboro Greens?Jack

Reading about something hardly make you or anyone an expert with the ability to have a educated opinion. Only firsthand experience will do.Every day I read about police brutality, should this unbalanced source of information be taken to account for all police?

Cops actually get to see the havoc caused by marijuana with their own eyes. And they see it often.
It's not the job of LEO's to "take care" of anyone. That is the individuals responsibility.
Make bad choices receive the consequences.
LEO's are rarely "shocked" when we see bad stuff and see people screw up their lives. In fact it a routine occurrence. The habit of making bad decisions is rampant in our society.
If marijuana is such a good pharmaceutical product it should be administered like any other pharmaceutical. Only after a real doctor has issued a prescription and only when it can be administered in a way such as a pill or tablet. Not smoked.Poke'm with a stick!

Regardless of its medical benefits, its a substance that no one has any right to tell anyone to take or not to take.
Its obvious that cannabis is 'safer' to society than alcohol, yet society 'gets by' with alcohol, because the general population of people are responsible.
I say 'gets by' because we loose close to 100,000 people a year due to alcohol. You wont find 100 deaths linked to cannabis (car crashes and such; no OD, because OD is 'impossible').
The fact is, people do bad things (abuse kids, put them in meth houses, run from the law) sober, insane, on drugs, drinking, up all night, what have you!
We have to stop blaming a plant, and start holding people accountable.
Cannabis does not make you stupid, does not make you work less hard. That is the person.
Tell Richard Branson it makes you work less, or makes you stupid he'll laugh in your face. But most of you will just ignore his success in light of how much he smokes.. (I use him as an example a lot, but there are many more people out there, and many that dont dare admit it)Last edited by Frozenguy; 03-01-2011, 7:04 PM.Comment

So if there is a non alcoholic version available that retains the same taste, would you choose that one? Spare me. If that is the case, don't ever drink an alcoholic beer again. Order non alcoholic. When I drink a nice glass or red wine with my steak, I do so because the wine enhances the flavor and taste of the meal. Not because of any mind altering reasons.
Who smokes weed to enhance the flavor or taste of anything?
Marijuana is only consumed for two reasons. It's to get high or be numbed.
Marijuana is a drug for losers. Many who use marijuana often loose the drive to achieve.
Sure, some folks may go into a grocery store with the intent of buying a glass of wine to enjoy a single glass with dinner.
Many knowingly go into grocery stores to buy alcohol WITH THE SOLE INTENT of getting wasted, and end up sh*t faced drunk.
But anyone** and everyone** who takes a hit, is doing so to absolutely get stoned silly and cannot control themselves?
Go ahead and point the finger. There are 3 others pointed back at you.
Huge double standard there.
Who are you to assume that a person cannot smoke casually the same way you drink casually? You can come home and have a few glasses of wine for a buzz, but the smoker cannot do the same?
Sure, smoke heavy amounts of marijuana and you will be stoned and floored. You can reach a point of piss drunk if you go too far with alcohol. You're telling me you have never been called for someone being piss drunk and causing drama? The piss drunk person couldn't handle it obviously, yet we do not put the negative stigma on the substance that causes this person to behave the way they did. Here's a better idea. Let's put the responsibility on that idiot for over doing it.
We can put a warning on alcohol warning people of the health dangers which are very real, yet still allow them as an adult to decide whether or not to use it, but we cannot do the same with pot? Please.
Marijuana is a drug for losers. Guns are only for killers. People who buy alcohol are only drunk, dead beat, wife beating alcoholics who ALWAYS get sh*t faced.
Keep going with the off base one-size-fits all stereotypes. Go ahead.
Here is another question for you:
Many of the LEO here keep citing the "problems" they see associated with marijuana. It seems as though most of the "problems" you see associated with it deal with the selling/transportation/money/business aspect of it.
How many times do you get called cause a person who was ONLY stoned on marijuana was being violent, causing a ruckus, picking fights, etc due to the marijuana? If you get any of these calls, I guarantee you get just as many that stemmed from alcohol abuse that night as well.
Now look at alcohol. I bet the tables switch. Fewer calls for the illegal sell/transportation aspects of it, and many more calls dealing with someone who is being a complete jack *** due to being drunk; bar fights, domestic abuse to alcoholism, drunk driving, deaths as a result from drunk driving, etc. How many people wake up in your holding tank on Saturday and Sunday morning after a night of debauchery? How many of them are in there based on actions done after ONLY smoking marijuana?
Take your average bar fight. You're gonna sit here and tell me that both sides involved weren't drinking generally? Families ruined due to an alcoholic family member? But there is no problem with alcohol. Spare me.
Take two strangers who spark up together. Could they fight? Yea but it would be highly unlikely. More like giggling, being silly, raiding the pantry, eating everything in sight. LOL.
Alcohol is A-OK and causes no health issue? BS.
-liver disease, cirrhosis, loss of brain cells, stroke, high blood pressure, pancreatitis, etc.
If you are gonna cast the stone at marijuana, you should be casting the stone at alcohol just as well.
Hilarious.

based on what you see regarding alcohol, with things like drunks getting in fights at bars, DUIs, the back-alley winos, etc, if alcohol were currently illegal, would you argue against its legalization?LEO's are rarely "shocked" when we see bad stuff and see people screw up their lives. In fact it a routine occurrence. The habit of making bad decisions is rampant in our society.
well, when you read stuff like this, http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...121100825.html , where it says that the fed.gov controlls the actual MJ that researchers can use to test, looks like that could limit the strains that could be tested for best medical efficiency. And regarding smoking not neccessarily being the best method to medicate, when the pharm companies can make a pill that has all the important canabinoids in it, and not just a synthetic form of THC (which may not be as effective as the original), maybe that pill would be ok. But now, it isn't the neccessarily the best way to adminster the drug. Remember that there are many drugs that are designed to be inhaled instead of being swallowed, why can't MMJ be one of them. Vaporizaton works without introducing the toxins that smoking MJ does.If marijuana is such a good pharmaceutical product it should be administered like any other pharmaceutical. Only after a real doctor has issued a prescription and only when it can be administered in a way such as a pill or tablet. Not smoked.Jack
