I didn't have time to read all the posts so I don't know if this was brought up. Did you ever notice with any addiction the emotional growth of those addicted is stumped? Sure, many are functioning
addicts but their personal life is always in turmoil. They live in the past and all of their failures are the result of what someone else did to them. Legal or not, there is a price to pay in any addiction.

I beg your pardon. There is a Physical addiction and mental addiction. You can call the mental addiction a habit or a compulsion, it is still an addiction.

some things have more addictive substances than others. additionally some people have far more addictive personalities than others. doe this preclude an outright ban on everything and everyone that can succumb to addiction? we should just arrest and jail everybody right?

i guess pot was the reason that our society faltered into the state in which it is currently in. I'm so glad we outlawed it(you guys realize it was legal before), because we are so much better now that the evil plant can't be abused freely(one must actually commit a crime)......

Just like I am so glad we have assault weapon bans because we all know the person who would actually use a rifle in an unlawful/harmful way is really going to be worried about a weapons charge for an illegally configured rifle while they plan/do their dirt.

Let's penalize everyone because a few individuals can't handle themselves.

            NOT. lol.

I think a lot. I think about my first hand experience dealing with the destroyed lives from these drugs. You are actually the one that has no experience. When is the last time you went into a meth lab and removed a child who had been abused and exposed to hazardous chemicals? When is the last time you had to condemn a property where meth was being cooked? When have you had to walk into a house where the floor was covered with garbage, crap, piss, and dead animals to remove kids who were victims of abuse from a whore mother addicted to crack? And when was the last time you had to fight a person who was so high on meth they had the strength of a gorilla and had beaten the crap out of thier 12 year old daughter? All because of meth?

Have you ever had your house burglarized by an Oxy freak? What? No? Well there are thousands of people who have lost property with sentimental value due to a drug addicted criminal stealing from them. I went to a house that was burglarized and the 91 year old man who lived there lost his WWII military medals, his deceased wifes jewelry, his prescription heart medication, and his coin collection. He was devistated.

Drugs = Crime. There is no deabte on the matter. Legalizing Meth, coke, oxy, roids, opiates, will not minimize the problem. Drug addicts steal from thier own children and families.

Do you know how many tweakers are living at home with thier elderly parents at the age of 35 years old. They don't work, they only steal!!??

You have no idea because you have no experience dealing with such things.

Like I said, ZERO liability voters, non voters, entitlement class people, and the recipient class of people have absolutely no say or input on anything realted to these or other issues concerning public policy!
Your stories are all about meth, not cannibis.

now your a doctor who knows what drugs have meaning in the medical world?

              Any addiction is bad.

I agree it is useless to debate with some people, your obviously very set on your opinions regarding the matter.

I thought the same as you for the most part until i did some research on cannibis and found that most of the lies that are created againts it are just that lies.

Look at history, it was legal at one point and probably would be if it could be patend.

Exactly. I don't even know why stoners and tweakers are even compared in the same sentence.

Some people must have watched "Reefer Madness" and actually swallowed it for truth.

I think your confusing Libertarians for liberals. I'm sure many people on here's stance is that the gov't has no right regulating what they do whether it be target shooting with a 15rd mag or saying what I can or cannot eat.

I've lived in the heartland of MO on a farm city pop. 438. Yes they are kind people, if you fit their rules. Your a black man, gay man etc there is no acceptance. That said being a white straight male whose family owns the only garage in town I'm naturally good to go. I love my family over there will all my heart but they are at times VERY closed minded.

Better ban sodas with caffeine then, because people can drink them out of habit or compulsion. When you discuss addiction people think cocaine, heroin, or nicotine type effects. Marajuana is barely a blip on the radar when it comes to addiction

edit: btw Im by no means advocating the use of Marijuana whether it medicinal or illegal.

When I drink a nice glass or red wine with my steak, I do so because the wine enhances the flavor and taste of the meal. Not because of any mind altering reasons.

Who smokes weed to enhance the flavor or taste of anything?

Marijuana is only consumed for two reasons. It's to get high or be numbed.

Marijuana is a drug for losers. Many who use marijuana often loose the drive to achieve.

Sorry Mr. Closed mind, too bad that glass of harmless wine kills more brain cells than a joint.

This thread is hilarious. Enhance the flavor of my food.

There are always exceptions. Poisons don't kill everyone who consumes them. However marijuana has ruined far far more lives that it has helped.

LEO's see the ruined lives of of many chronic marijuana users on a far more regular basis than anyone else. Especially the effect it has on younger peoples lives.

Everyone knows what a "stoner" is. Most don't care about much of anything other than smoking weed.
