Thanks for the help and guidance.
There is no "normal" in a panic.

I sure hope all the new folks to the forum and new gun owners are JOINING THE NRA. Regaurdless of your personal opinion of them EVERY gun owner NEEDS to join.

That will be are only real hope of keeping a fed ban in check. So come on....if you can pay $400+ for a lower.....$1500+ for a low end AR......a dollar a round for crap ammo.....you can spend $10.00 a year to help keep some political clout in WA DC.

        Come on.....

For the lower, normal was $125 - $150. Some better deals could be found though. As for uppers, wow.... The sky has always been the limit, are you talking a delton($) or a Daniel Defense ($$$$$), even under normal pricing the difference would be a $1000 bucks or more (lots more) Then it goes to what you want it for and that configuration.

Went to Turners to put a deposit on an Armalite AR15 but the one I handled the other day was gone and stopped taking deposits on any AR15 except a Windham weaponry AR15 model R16M4FTT-CA for $1k which on online websites sell for $770 so not too much higher but it's not the one I want. I was told the Armalite was discontinued, but later on called Armalite and confirmed it isn't discontinued. I can get my deposit back with no restocking fees as long as the gun hasn't been drosed since they don't have it yet till this week. I'm thinking of waiting this out until this all settles back down and get the one I really wanted in the first place. If I don't get an AR15 then "oh well" I already have my converted featureless Saiga 240 Ak74 with 1k of 5.45 x 39 Russian surplus ammo and with standard 30 and hi cap preban mags as my shtf gun, which seems more readily available and costs less than .223.

I have no problem spending a little money to support the cause. $10.00 a year is worth it.

Thank you for the help on "normal" pricing Nx.

TechShot - I couldn't agree with you more, which is why normal was in "_". This is crazy. The cost of my 40 ammo has been going up slightly as well. I spoke with a shop in Sac and he said ammo will probably go up 25% beginning of the new year.

How is this different than any normal business day transaction??? Are they giving away firearms for free without DROS'n them?? I'm not understanding your statement.

I thought this was going to settle down after about a week, but the escalation in prices is not due to CA demand, but nationwide. I can just imagine CNC lathes working around the clock, but everywhere you look in the internet, "Sold Out" or "Out of Stock". I just want some repair kits darn it! I have enough to wait it out, but the impatient part of me just screams sell something to buy something.

I went to my LGS here in GA on Saturday. This LGS has racks upon racks of black rifles (ARs, FALs, AR10, SCRs, MACs, UZIs, lowers...etc), multiple M1As, shotguns and shelves upon shelves of handguns, hicap mags and all the regular stuff at GS). I was there earlier this week and they had a full inventory on everything. When I pulled into the parking lot I was surprised that all the parking spots in their lot as well as the adjacent lot were full and there were people lined up outside. After waiting several minutes to get in was amazed that nearly all the rifle racks and pistol shelves were empty as was the wall of AR accessories, wall of mags and wall of holsters! The place was a madhouse and people were buying multiple firearms at once. Even the rack of SBRs and case suppressors were all gone!

I saw a guy in line ask for 5 glocks. The salesman asked him which models and he said it didn't matter and to just give him 5 that took hicap mags. He didn't even look at them, he just paid and walked out with them!

As long as I have been into firearms I have never seen anything like this! As for my purchases, I walked out with some speedloaders; which I didn't intend to purchase but with the stuff flying off the shelves decided I had better get them now before they were all gone, and a bunch of paracord.

I anticipate this store will be closed next week due to lack of inventory.

Ummm because they are not looking out for straw purchases being made... if you ever worked at a good loyal gun shop they tell you to look out for these things. Sell sell sell! I don't care if your smell like marijuana or alcohol. Sell sell sell!!!!!!

                          Panic and Stupidity

I can understand the panic regarding black guns and folks wanting to buy the registered parts now, and before any sort of ban could be put in place.

Personally, I highly doubt there will be any legislation that bans AR's and AK's, but honest people can disagree.

What I don't get is knuckleheads who are willing to pay outrageous prices for items that are not controlled and will always be available once the panic subsides.

I'm referring to LPK's, stocks, hand guards, barrels, etc.

Makes me glad I bought four AR lowers awhile back to just toss in the safe.

Went to Turners and Parallax Tactical yesterday and all they are sold out of Rifle. This remind me when Obama first got elected back in 2007. Everything was marked up including ammo if you can find any. I am glad I already got 5 AR's and a AK before this whole thing happen.

Btw, have you looked at reloading components? I went to several online dealers and could not find any small rifle or pistol primers anywhere. I did manage to place a couple of orders for large pistol primers at their normal prices as well as some buffalo bore carry ammo. I anticipate that reloading components and factory ammo will dry up during the buying frenzy.

One good thing about all the new shooters is I anticipate there will be a lot more cases to pickup at the range because I doubt many of them will reload.
