Ummm because they are not looking out for straw purchases being made... if you ever worked at a good loyal gun shop they tell you to look out for these things. Sell sell sell! I don't care if your smell like marijuana or alcohol. Sell sell sell!!!!!!

Im laughing at these prices, $6 30rn new mags selling for $60. Heck I might just unload 10 30rn kits and buy the wife a lil something.

This is the gamble folks are playing right now. No different than the stock market, Vegas, going bareback with a hooker & hoping you don't catch something, etc... The folks buying $500 lowers should be aware of this.

I went to JD Machine to pickup my 308 matched set I bought just before the fiasco, stood in line for an hour only to be told its not ready yet. I called before making the hour drive, since earlier they told me they would be ready but they are too busy to even answer the phone (Really they are THAT busy so I can't really hold it against them). Hell even the Sheriff's were there to join the crassness and wanted to order like 3k lowers or something like that).

Line was practically out the door to order a lower, or get on the backorder list (3-4 months for the 308 now). They pretty much sold all their uppers and complete rifles too.

Unless manufacturers have stopped making ammo or drastically scaled back production, I think you'll be fine. People cannot panic buy forever. They can't afford it. Especially at todays inflated prices. I expect good discounts in the future. Once manufacturers ramp up production due to the panic, buying will normalize, and they'll be stuck with lots of excess inventory.

Ammo prices were already up because of shortages caused by demand from the wars, etc. They "ramped up production" ten years ago.

When they get to 10k Ill sell my extras with 6 rebuilds. 10,000. Everything has a price, and if someone is CRAZY enough to pay that. Then I will sell it.

What I don't get is knuckleheads who are willing to pay outrageous prices for items that are not controlled and will always be available once the panic subsides.

I'm referring to LPK's, stocks, hand guards, barrels, etc.

Makes me glad I bought four AR lowers awhile back to just toss in the safe.

If a new AWB is enacted, there will almost certainly be post-ban AR lowers.

Feinstein said that the bill will prohibit the manufacture of "assault weapons".

What happens if the ATF issues an opinion stating that only complete rifles are grandfathered in as of the ban's implementation date? In that case, a stripped lower purchased pre-ban but left unbuilt is of little more value than a lower purchased post ban.

How will ATF know if your rifle was assembled pre- or post-ban? They probably won't. That won't change the legality of the action.

Went to Turners and Parallax Tactical yesterday and all they are sold out of Rifle. This remind me when Obama first got elected back in 2007. Everything was marked up including ammo if you can find any. I am glad I already got 5 AR's and a AK before this whole thing happen.

I got 5 ARs too. But still kick myself not getting a Colt earlier this year. it is nearly impossible to find a Colt right now.

You haven't ever worked in a machine-shop? They usually make other parts and products besides firearms and receivers. Aircraft, automotive, appliance, tools. All they have to do is shift the importance of the order due to time/delivery requirements.

Also, the foreman can "ramp up production" quite easily, where all he has to do is threaten you with your job, add a second shift, all pending it's not a union-shop.

my LGS store sold 77+ lowers in three days.....at the same price they were in Nov.

they did this in 1994.

if it was already DROSed to you, probably not. But they did pull manufacturer and dealer logs and check what serial number ranges were still in inventory after the ban went into effect.

I can't find any 7.62X39 within 100 miles of where I live, and all of the online vendros are back ordered until March 2013. Does anybody know where I can find cheap (tula, WPA, Wolf, etc..) 7.62X39 ammo? Even my local WAL*FARTS have nothing and don't know when they will get any in. Even P2K, which normally has stockpiles are out and don't know when they'll be getting more in. All I want to do is sight in my new red/green dot. I have enough to do that, but will be left with no ammo after I'm done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

THey should start restricting the amount you can get per person. People are buying loads and its hurting those who only want 1 part. There are also going to be some part scalper that buy 20-30 and try and take advantage of the situation and turn a profit.

I called my LGS two days ago. My ideal would have been a Daniel Defense. LGS had nothing...EXCEPT..."we have one left that we were contemplating putting on Gun Broker just for laughs to see what we could get."
