Exactly what every LEO friend has said. They'd be sent on suicide missions against the very people they swore to protect. F*** that the politicians could go collect the guns themselves.Comment

I'd respect the politicians if they did that.
Why, I'd even take my hat off as their funeral procession went by.sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

I keep hearing this, but when the authorities actually ordered confiscation after Katrina, LEO's went out and collected, and people gave them up. I think there's even a video on YouTube of LEO's taking a firearm from an old woman against her strong protests; still, she didn't shoot and they took. If I had to choose between what people claim on the Internet and what actually gets reported in the news, I'm going to conclude that a general confiscation would be widely successful.
Of course, the authorities won't be like, "Hey, I know! Let's take everyone's guns!" But more like, "In light of the recent tragic event which has stricken us all with grief and fear, surely all patriotic citizens will agree enough is enough. It is no longer reasonable to see people with guns as anything else but negligent and child abusers, based on events which clearly demonstrates how easy it is for psycho killers and children to get firearms in a gun-owning society." There will also be hunters claiming, "Now that the authorities are equipping deer and turkey with sensor vests and letting me pick up packaged meat from my grocery store, I can hunt with my 'laser gun' and see no need to own an actual firearm."
Any rational discussion, research, etc. will be irrelevant except to help identify people who are dangerous to society and need to have their homes searched.Comment

AND HERE IS THAT VIDEO.... THEY CAN AND THEY WILL... whoops, caps lock
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks & corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
