I bought an M4 configuration, and it shoots very good. I bought it because I couldn't find a full size one. If any of you got a full size one and wanted to trade for the M4, I would trade mine.

Too bad you're in Socal, City Arms has the M16 version. I heard this version is very accurate at the 100 yds range, providing wind conditions are calm.

I need a full size one to practice for my high power rifle matches. I wonder if anyone is interested in trading.

Any difference between M4/M16 other than the obvious barrel & stock?

Gunrunners in Duarte has one right now! 20 inch barrel. $620 I believe.

Took the Umarex/Walther/Colt M4 to the range today with a Ruger 10/22T, and an M261 .22 conversion in a 20" bull barreled free float DPMS .223 1/9 twist upper/Rock River A2 stocked lower.

I was shooting Winchester X-pert lead 36 grain hollowpoints, Federal 550 pack copper plated 36 grain hollowpoints, and Aguila SE 40 grain solids.

I was only shooting at 25 yards because I needed to zero the scopes on all three rifles. This took longer than anticipated.

                      I was shooting at the 5 1/2 inch "Shoot N C" stick on targets with a 1 5/8 inch 10 ring, 2 5/8 inch 9 ring and 3 5/8 inch 8 ring.

Finally got down to testing the rifles and loads. I started out with the 10/22T since I already know how this rifle shoots. With Aguila SE, it makes a single 5-shot raggged hole you can cover with the end of a AA battery. With the Winchester and the Federal, groups opened up considerably. I could keep 5 shoots inside a 1 inch "Shoot N C" adhesive dot, but that's about it.

Next I tried the M261 conversion. With the Winchester and the Federal ammo, the shots were scattered inside the 9 ring. The typical 5-shot group was 2 in the 10 ring with 3 scattered around the 9 ring. I couldn't tell if it was the ammo or the gun. The Aguila SE is standard velocity ammo and wouldn't reliably cycle the rifle.

Last was the Umarex/Walther/Colt M4. With the Winchester and the Federal, accuracy was a little better than the M261 conversion, but not much. All of the shots stayed within the 9 ring. A typical 5 shot group was 3 shots in the 10 and 2 in the 9 ring. This time I'm pretty sure the culprit is the ammo, although I still have issues with the trigger. I need to figure out a fix for this. The Aguila SE would not cycle reliably.

After I re-spring the M261 and set up the M4 for standard velocity ammo, I'll take them out again for further testing. I'm sure the standard velocity ammo will help out with accuracy.

If anything, I suppose it should be called a Walther since that's who make its. But it's definitely NOT a Colt M4 Carbine in spite of what is rollmarked on the gun or what's printed on the packaging. It is also NOT an AR even though it looks like one and handles like one.

If you want an AR, don't buy the Umarex/Walther/Colt. Get a dedicated upper for your AR lower. It will cost you a lot more, but you'll have an AR. If you want a reasonably priced rifle that looks EXACTLY like a Colt M4, get the Umarex/Walther/Colt.
When comparing a combat type rifle like an AR-15 to a .22lr plinker you are going to notice differences. The Colt .22lr does not have to be built on the same platform as a combat style AR-15 as the function and durability requirements for the two guns are substantially different. The Colt .22lr fully meets it's needs and purpose as plinker.

A nice and very accurate plinker I might add

It's one hell of a fun gun. Blast another 500 rounds today had one FTF.

Targets bench 50yds no sandbags all elbows, Plastic water bottles and Tin cans at 40yds standing. I never knew it would be so much fun shooting bottles.
