Just got back from Angelus. I finally was able to shoot the Umarex with some standard velocity target ammo. I'm using a Leupold 3-9X40 on a Larue Tactical SPR-E mount. I backed the adjuster spring out flush then cranked it in one full turn.

Shooting was at 50 yards using a Harris BR bipod attached to a KNS bipod stud. I changed out the original handguards with a set of Stag handguards with the aluminum heat shield hoping it would hold the bipod stud better.

I was using Wolf Match Target (Made in Germany) and Aguila SE. Here's the best group of the day. 5 rounds of Wolf MT. 4 shots in a tight cluster with a flyer. The cluster is about 3/8 inch center to center. The flyer opens the group up to just under an inch.

Here's a group using Winchester X-pert. 5 shots at 50 yards. I didn't change the spring tension. The group really opened up, but it's still about an inch. Not too shabby.

Later I took the Umarex over to the pistol range to plink on steel. From a standing position, no sling, I had no trouble hitting the larger targets on the last bank, but never did hit that chicken. I wish I would have brought a chair over to the steel so I could try some shots sitting down using the bipod. There was a guy sitting there with a Walther G22 also shooting at steel. I was going to ask him if I could see his rifle because I was wondering if they have any parts in common, but then I thought it would be a bad idea to ask a complete stranger if I could disassemble his gun!

I did offer one of the range officers a chance to shoot the Umarex, but he said he was on the clock and would have to pass.

So far I haven't had any gun related failures to feed or fire. Before adjusting the main spring, I had problems with standard velocity ammo not cycling the action, but now that I've adjusted the spring tension, it works great.

I'm still not happy with the trigger. Somebody on rimfirecentral.com has completely disassembled his Umarex and is working on a trigger fix. Hopefully he'll come up with something soon.

Great Images thank you. So you didint turn the tension all the way? Blazer 22 works really good with my colt.. I think 2 clicks to the right will center you. I don't think yoru zeroed yet. It's deadly at 50 yards..

        Ammo Types

I pick my "M4" up on sunday, I was wondering if anyone has cycled Aguilla Interceptor or CCI Stinger, and if so how did that work out.

I actually had the scope zeroed for the Aguila SE. That's my "everyday" .22 ammo. I brought the Wolf MT because that's what a lot of folks have been using in the .22 precision matches and that's what I use for bullseye matches.

As you can see, the Wolf MT is extremely accurate ammo. It uses the same primer compound as Eley and is very consistent. If not for that one flyer, the group would have been less than 0.5 inches at 50 yards. I guess the German rifle really likes German ammo!

I've used the CCI Stingers and Mini Mags both works great. Check the Bolt Speed and make necessary adjustment, clean the rifle completely and used CLP on the back of the firing pin, return spring, front of the firing pin, ejector and you are good to go. I been experimenting with a dry Teflon lube on the return spring and its been working great it does attracts less dirty and particle.

Isaac I want to try the dry lube. What is the name of it? I have used cci, wolf, federal blazer and the german in white and yellow box. The blazers I like the best , Same accuracy then minimags and much cheaper. Wolf match shot the same to me. The wolf match will never go off in my sig 22, very strange..

Here ya go. I find myself cleaning the gun less and only needing to reapply a small drop of CLP on the front and rear firing pin.

took mine to the range today. Shot some 200 rounds of CCI Mini Mag 40gr and win. super-X 40gr HP's. 1 light strike from each.

Its my first rifle so i had a hard time getting my Walther PS22 Red dot zero'd but the shots were super tight (10 shots quarter sized) with my arm rested on the table.

They just werent going where i was aiming (upward on the target the farther the target was)

                      Hey all -

So I'm kinda new to these forums, so I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong area. Thought I'd start here since this forum is specific to this rifle.

I've been having some problems with the slide catch in my M4 .22. Recently it's been sticking in the locked position (keeping the bolt open even if I remove the mag).

I've taken the whole assembly apart, right down to removing the barrel, the spring and adjustment pin (part #'s 36 and 52 in the manual), thoroughly cleaning and lubing each part. Pin #56 has also worked itself loose, and tends to fall out pretty easily while I have the whole bolt assembly removed from the upper.

If I leave pin 56 out, the slide catch works fine, moving up and down without a problem. However when I put the pin back in, it seems to bind up the movement, and now the slide catch doesn't like to return to the open position.

Again, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong spot. I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this, and also what anyone thinks I should do - be it taking to a local gunsmith, or dealing with the whole warranty thing.

                      Thanks

I've had it for only a couple weeks now. I mean other than that, it works perfectly. I even ran 800 rounds through it last weekend of CCI Mini Mag HV, and maybe only had 3 FTF. I guess I'll call them Monday.

You're a lot braver than me! I was going to tear down the M4 to get at the trigger group, but it looks too complicated and but for the trigger, everything else is fine.

This is another reason why I'll eventually be getting a dedicated upper, but until then, I'll have fun with the M4.

Same here, I have 1800 rounds through mines and never had a issue. If something to that degree happens, send it back for warranty repair. You are aware if you break any parts during disassembling, there is no replacement parts available?
