Friend of mine has one and said everything he has put through it runs great except the Remington Gold box. He said Remington Gold wouldn't even feed. He called Umarex and they confirmed that ammo doesn't run in the Colt very well.

I have yet to see Remingtons work in a semiauto, not in any of mine anyway!
I think the shell o.d. is bigger than many others .because they never seem to feed in any of mine .

The Rem. GB worked fine on my friends GSG, it worked fine on my Ruger 10/22, & my AA Glock .22lr conversion loves the Rem GBs. Now for my Colt M4 .22lr
        it had issues with FTF.

Wow , my GSG did not like them, and my dedicated AR22 hated them would not even chamber 1 round .

The bolt is supposed to stay locked open even after you remove the magazine.

Same with me. RGB works great on my Spikes ST-22, Ruger Mk3, GSG5, Kimber 1911 Rimfire, and almost exclusively on my Walther P22. It is the unofficial ammo for P22s

I do remember getting one bad batch though....I got problems with every gun except the S&W 617

I understand that if I break any parts I may void my warranty, but why would no replacement parts be available? Even for purchase?

But actually, I think I worked out the problem anyway. Took some gun scrubber to it and then some WD-40. Ran 600 more rounds through it this weekend and it's running fine. So that makes about 2600 rounds for the gun in total now. Love it.

Took the Umarex/Colt/Walther M4 to Angeles today along with an AR with the M261 conversion. Upper is an Olympic Arms 16" SUM (stainless ultra match) with a 1:10 twist. This is a bull barrel under the handguards reduced to HBAR profile.

The M261 conversion was printing 1 inch groups at 50 yards with Fiocchi HV 40 grain solids, but all over the place with Winchester X-perts and Federal 550 bulk ammo. I was using a Leupold VX-II 2-7X33 in a UTG 1-piece mount I bought at the Glendale Gun Show. Only problem was, POI was a foot below POA. I topped out the elevation and was still shooting 6 inches low at 50 yards.

I didn't get to do any field testing with the M4 because the firing pin in my son's Romanian M69 broke and once he had the M4, I couldn't get it back from him. We turned in our target stands and headed to the steel racks on the pistol side. The M4 had my Leupold 3-9X40 in a Larue Tactical SPR-E mount with a Stoney Ridge bipod.

My son started beating on the 50 yard steel immediately. Duck, square, circle, pig, chicken, ping, ping, ping. Next was 100 yards. Ram-no problem. It's huge. Big circle-no problem. Broken circle, miss, miss, miss, chicken, square, circle. That chicken is tiny at 100 yards.

60 yards, no problem hitting the pig's heart. He hit every piece of steel on the range. I looked down at the Leupold and noticed it was still on 3, so I cranked it up to 9. Suddenly even the chicken at 100 yards was no problem.

Finally he gave me the M4 and said it was my turn. He had me shoot the pig's heart off-hand. 4 hits in a row. Then he had me work the 100 yard chicken. Off-hand, I couldn't hit it. The cross-hairs were dancing around like crazy. Must have been the can of Coke I just drank. So I sat down in a chair and used the bottom of the mag as a rest and started spanking the chicken. I had to hold over just a bit. Actually, I was aiming at the hole in the first link of chain welded to the steel. 4 hits in a row.

When we called it a day, my son was complaining that his finger hurt. The trigger on the Umarex is getting really bad now. Also, we had a lot of misfires with the Winchester bulk ammo. At least one per mag. Everything fed, just didn't go "bang."

I was thinking about just giving it a good cleaning, but you can't get into the trigger and bolt. I'm pretty good with 1911's and AR's. I've built several 1911's from components. Trigger jobs, beavertails, checkering. Really don't want to mess with the M4. Guess it's time to send the M4 back for warranty work.

Maybe not the trigger, but you can definitely get into the bolt. Just takes a little work. PM me if you want and I can give you a run down.

The trigger on my M4 feels like something is wrong inside. It actually feels like there is sand inside there and it's getting worse. I've tried to spray Breakfree from an aerosal can, compressed air, RemOil, etc. Still no good.

I had a Series 80 Colt Government Model .45 acp that also had a horrid trigger. I replaced the entire firing mechanism, and it still was horrible. Finally I removed the Series 80 firing pin lock and put on a Series 70 slide. That did the trick. If this was an AR, I think I could fix it or at least find someone to fix it.

I wonder what division of Walther is making these M4's. It certainly isn't the same group that built my post-War PP or P-38. Those guns are things of beauty as well as function.

I really don't want to send the M4 back because my son really likes it and his rifle is down with a broken firing pin. Which means I have to find something else to shoot.

Just a fyi for everyone if they didn't already know it; My American Rifleman arrived today and they have a review of it. Overall, they liked it, tho they mentioned a problem with some of the ammo used (Remington HV).

They also said Walther advises, "when disassembling it for cleaning, to not go beyond the point of disengaging the takedown pin and pivoting the upper receiver forward, since the slide is not readily extractable like the AR-15 BCG."

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

ETA the "", since I took that right from the magazine.

Mine has choked on Remington ammo no matter what kind. It seems to like American Eagle and CCI Mini Mags best. I have almost 1000 rounds through her and the last 300 fired with NO problem whatsoever. I think this baby needs breaking in; after the break in though, the thing is reliable and accurate.

The only negative comments on the m4-22 are from people who don't own them

You know what, I'm beginning to realize that. Also, from the people that have conversion kits on their ARs. That's fine though because I had wanted a .22 rifle but didn't want a 10/22 or other "regular" type .22 rifle. The Colt M4 .22 fit the bill just right.............that is, after the initial price shock left me. All in all though I'm glad I bought it. It think the dealer I bought it from added 100 bucks to the price because he sold all he had the first week. Now that Turner's has them he has gone down in price....although he won't give us back the money we "overpaid" him in comparison to Turner's price.
