I found someone that can adjust the pull weight on the trigger (they have experience on this gun already, and can reduce the weight to 4lbs.) The charge is $35!

Question I have is, does anyone know how to remove the trigger group?? They specifically need me to send: trigger, hammer, disconnecter and their springs.

          Can anyone help??

Sounds like they are quoting you for a regular AR trigger job, is it Bill Springfield?

Yup, it is Bill Springfield. But I did make sure I told him it was the Colt M4 .22LR Rimfire, and he told me he's already worked on these guns and $35 is what he quoted me. So I'm gonna take my chances and see how it turns out.

After looking at mine, I would think you'd need to send the entire lower for trigger work. I don't think you could check the trigger pull otherwise. I may be wrong (often am, just ask my wife).

I guess he changed his mind? Removing the trigger assembly is gonna be one SOB! Too bad there isnt exploded diagram/blue print otherwise I would give it a tried. Then again my trigger isnt heavy at all but I am using dry Teflon lube on it.

Ok, I spent about 2 hours today with the lower and figured out how to get out the trigger assembly (took me 2 hours cause like always, I go to far and ended up having a hell of a time reassembling) BTW, there is an exploded diagram in the back of the manual if you have one.

It'a actually a little easier than I thought. Once you separate the upper from the lower, the next step is to remove the magazine release button. Then, using a very small flat head screwdriver, pop off the safety switch on the left side and safety indicator on the right side. Finally, use the long allen wrench that came the gun to go inside the pistol grip and unscrew it from the lower. Once you remove the pistol grip, the whole trigger assembly will slide right out.

So I'm gonna send the assembly out on Monday. When I get it back I'll post the results. In the meantime I threw another 400 rounds through it today as well. The accuracy still amazes me.

Yes it did,has convinced me I need one, damn things are pretty
accurate. I really like the looks---(I don't own an AR type) and even though
22LR is expensive, still a lot cheaper than 223. I use my FAL as the big
rifle and that ammo is the same as 223. Pete

Report back with the Bill Springfield tuned trigger as to how much difference it made.

Took mine out over the weekend, must have expelled 1000 rounds threw it. Only one miss fire. I ran everything threw it, Remington, Winchester Super X, Federal champion Target, Aguila Target, CCI MiniMag, and Armscor Precision. The one miss fire was with the Federal bulk. It fired the Aguila sub sonic very well even with the bolt spring on high velocity. The Aguila was like shooting a pellet gun. Not as accurate with a lot of drop then the high velocity. The best was the CCI and Armscor. After the sighting in a Bushnell red dot at 27 yards with quarter size groupings. Knocking 1" steel target at 75 yard with no problem. I recommend a good break down before first shooting, quite a bit of left over milling shavings. The next day cleaned the rifle and wow, clumps of gunk. LOL Still worth the $650 for a dedicated .22.

I got my m4 ops last Sept. 22, I went to range last week to try it out and like most of you i had a problem with the remington 525 pack... i also tried armscorp standard velocity with no problem then last friday i went to bass pro shop to buy some ammo and all they have was remington thunder bolt for $1.99 a box of 50 rds...i went to the shooting range again today to try them out and to my surprise it was flawless, i also tried a box of fiocchi super match and had 2 FTF and 1 stovepipe I was really disappointed to think that I was expecting a lot better from this ammo, i hope i could get my hands on some cci, federal & winchester to try which of them would work well with my m4...The m4 ops was really fun to shoot.
