    RANGE REPORT---Colt 22 M-4 Ops

Well I finally got to shoot it after sitting in my safe for 3 weeks. First I took it apart. Loosened the flash hider 2 turns and it takes the tension off the pins. I popped the pins out lubed it up inside and turned the tightening screw clockwise for the bolt tension spring all the way in till it stopped. I put it back together and off to the range.

I loaded 10 rounds of Winchester expert hollow points and shot away from the target just to make sure, it functioned, and to warm it up.

Reloaded my magazines of the same ammo and began to shoot my target at 50 yards with a Aimpoint red dot 2x.. BLOWN AWAY at how accurate it was.

I then shot 120 rounds of CCI mini-mags. Not 1 failure
I then shot 50 rounds of wolf match the oily stuff, Not one failure. I then shot blazer 22 100 rounds not 1 failure.

This is the best dam 22 I have ever owned. The loading of the magazine is great with a slider so you don't thrash your thumbs. The magazine snaps in and you hear it , No slop and no mickey mouse. The gun feels really good and solid. I had a Old Knights Arm forward grip I put on and used the aimpoint from my colt sporter. I also used the original Iron sights. I will show the targets now in the next posts..

    The 22's I own are
    GSG-5
    1022 custom Volks
    1022 stock
    Feather 22
Henry 22 and Now the Colt M-4 Ops.... I am so happy with this 22 I'm thinking of getting another.

I hope this post helps potential buyers. I will post a video one day when I get a chance.

    Happy Sunday.

    Colt M-4 6920 556 with Colt M-4 OPS 22

Ok this is 50 yards with Iron sites with Winchester expert hollow points. You can see where I shot low,
Re adjusted hit 2 rounds, then re adjusted again.

Iron sites dialed in 50 yards with winchester hollow points

This was 30 rounds of rapid fire with blazer 22

This is benched with CCI mini mags with 2x red dot

I am sure once i get out to 100 yards that is where the mini mags will work the best. The mini's i used were 36 grain. I want to try 40 grain for 100 yards. I could have adjusted some right and up a bit to be perfect but i had to leave. I give this new colt project a A+ Outstanding...

    Safe & Happy shooting.

What's with the saftey/fire selector? Does it have a faux full auto position?

Naw I wish the safety clicked but it just slides. It's just safe and fire. I am sure they will make revisions to it. This gun is going to take off in sales, once a few more people see what it does.

Does the bolt hold open on the last round?

Yes, after the last shot the bolt action stays open.

Who said I lubed the pins?? I lubed the internals and made sure everything was nicely oiled. I never shoot a new gun out of the box Ever. I always do a take down before I shoot....

Took my brother-in-law to the shooting range this past weekend. He was planning on buying a GSG for plinking, but after he shot 200 rounds he's convinced that this Colt M4 Ops is just awesome, totally awesome. I had to yank the rifle off his hands, he just didn't want to let go. A guy to our left had the Colt M16 .22 model he and his kids were having a blast.

Same here, I let some guy at the range try it out for 10 rounds, then it became 20 rounds and the next thing I knew it was already 50 rounds! Dude, get your own rifle plus you now owe me 50 rounds of 22lr. I loosen the flash hider on mines and it made no difference, the pin was just as hard to pop out.
