If the reply was just a picture and/or a description, I'd take that as being cool.

When the response includes a lower price (even if it's a link), to me it appears to be bragging in a passive/aggressive manner.

Do you know which model of Weaver the optic is?
Do the reticle stadia move when the adjustment knobs are turned?
I have something similar from that era, a neat example of changing optics tech.
Like the 39 as well. One can never have too many rimfires.

Let me know though - it looked there might have been some scratches on the right side, between the cylinder and the grip. Not enough to stop me, though! Ahh well - I would rather have one in another caliber anyway. ;-)
I'll let you know when I pick it up. Haven't actually looked at it myself, just took the auction description as reasonable accurate. Of course sometimes you end up with a big old ball of crap when you do that.

I wasn't sure, and as I said, it wasn't enough to stop me from buying it! I doubt that your Schofield will be a ball of crap....I am envious.

^ ^ ^ Those Browning boys! They just never quit. Pops was a remarkable gunsmith and inventor, too, in the days before the family's move west of Missouri.

An 1886 w/ a box mag. How cool is that. Time for pointy bullets! I digress...

Here in the Mojave Lever Crew we have many diverse but related interests. Some of mine having to be in the equine...

My following question is for Dave whenever he next appears here:

How often might your horses display this kind of humorous behavior? This is too funny...

Yeah, but....... looking at it, I can't see how it works. The magazine is forward of the breech, so how does the cartridge get fed up into position?

Thats awesome. My daughter was that age when she asked to shoot my 1911. When the first round went off, she got this huge smile on her face.

That is a completely acceptable reason to bring up modern auto loaders. Very cool!

I agree with Tom, Dave and Spyder... your youngun' there can shoot.

I know what it feels like to witness our progeny (I have just one) cho0t and do it well. My son (now grown) is one hell of a wing shot, and I suck. I best him slightly as a position shooter. Gotta have something to smack down the smack talk.

But seriously, these are good kids.

My son is scary accurate with a rifle. He makes headshots on running prairie dogs with a red dot on an AR over 100 yards away and same for running rabbits at 50 yards with open sights on a .22 Taurus pump. I was able to best him with handguns, but as my eyes age, my proficiency goes to Hell - that hasn't been tested recently so he still says I am better.
