lol, that's pretty funny, Bob.You must of scared the crap out of them libs.

Fortunately, we live in a very red city but there are few libs scattered about.

Rick, good job with the single six...too bad someone feels the need to slap you down.

Either one is a great shooter! I love mine; "New Model" stainless w/ 6-1/2" barrel. I paid a lot more the tree-fiddy for mine!

      Enjoy, once you get it!

Blued New Model, made in 2006, with a 6 1/2 inch barrel. Same as the one I gave my son. That one has accounted for a lot of jack rabbits, cottontails, ground squirrels and prairie dogs.

Nice! Mine was made in 2018 and it's a great shooter. I put a set of checkered Rosewood grips on mine. The checkering is not real aggressive, but makes for a more secure grip, especially when firing the .22 mag. They are made by Altamont for Ruger and have the Ruger medallion.

        Take a peek, Here.

I don't see it as a slap down. Randall is an ace at finding obscure listings on GB. You should SEE some of the nifty little pistols he's scored from his detective work.

I read that as mostly a, "I know, right! Check THIS out..." kinda deal.

Rick, the grey plastic box might make that a New Model action w/ the transfer bar safety, safe to carry with six in the cylinder.

How's that for a slap down? Hee! (meaning it's not a three-screw, four-click Old Model action).

Who the frick cares, anyway. Each Ruger action type has it's advantages and disadvantages... it's six o' one, half-doz-the-other.

We've yet to have or host or R.O. any event. Between Covid and then the collective inexperience in managing larger-scale shooting participants' safety aspects we decided awhile back that everyone on the MLC roster might just shoot when and where they like and with whomever they choose, then just post some pictures if they like. We're just a bunch of lever-action-lovin' old guys.

Modoc starts with the letter M, so... MLC = Mojave Lever Crew and the Modoc Lever Crew. They both have a nice ring to 'em.

I believe that's the one I ended up with! Thanks for being an upstanding gentleman and not bidding it up on me. I wasn't planning on bidding on it but ended up getting a rifle in 44-40 at the auction and figured I should get a matching sidearm as long as I was at it.

Congrats on the Uberti Schofield .44-40...in which case, it was my own fault for leaving my computer a bit too long!
Let me know though - it looked there might have been some scratches on the right side, between the cylinder and the grip. Not enough to stop me, though! Ahh well - I would rather have one in another caliber anyway. ;-)

Modoc lever club works for me. I don't know of any other calgunners in the county, especially considering the county only has about 8 thousand people in the whole dang place!

The name Modoc has always been interesting to me. Now I must go off in search of that rabbit hole of it's history, now that I'm old enough to think I appreciate it.

I have five three-screw Rugers and four New Model action Rugers... three of the former are rimfire; one 1960's Bearcat and two '60s Single Sixes, one of which is a Super (never so stamped) with it's adjustable rear sight and WMR cylinder. I'm partial to the straight Six with it's partridge style front sight and sexy top strap a la Colt SAA. That's the rimfire single action I cho0t the most.

This 180-grain .357 stuff... all I have are 100 Hornaday XTP to press into some loads. I like the 158 grain stuff Hornady loads. Truth is, I've never loaded any .38/.357. All my 'sperience is with the .40s: .41, .44 and .45-70... and some reduced recoil .375 H&H so's to become more familiar with the Serb Mauser I acquired three summers ago thanks to RayPDA. Where's he been lately?

I think gettin' married and havin' chillins or somethin'.
                              .
