I looked on GB and they are going for $85 a box. Is that an accurate value or is it the prototypical GB markup?
If you looked up completed, sold auctions on GB and that's what they sold for, then that's the current market value. I did a quick check, and only one auction for a box completed and sold for $79.99, and it only had one bid. So I'm guessing $85 is too high.

Thanks. Yeah, I looked at that but failed to put that in my post. I'm amazed that these boxes are going for so much. Just wish I had the rifle to go with it!!!

Ernie, if you don't own *any* .30-30 (let alone that Winchester you mention) at the moment and wish to offload that box o' ammo, and if bigbossman ain't interested, then I'd like to purchase that from you for a companion to my 1968 Marlin 336 Texan/Texas SR Carbine...

PM your price if so. Otherwise if you're just wonderin' what it's worth and wish to keep it, then that's even better! see.

I appreciate the courtesy, but it's yours if he's wishing to sell it.

There's a guy selling one of these rifles in the box at out local gun shows Ernie, I think his price was pretty fair and I am pretty sure it's in .30-30 as well. We have a show next weekend, if you want me to check it out and send pics/price or anything I'll be happy to get you in touch with him.

As far as I know, all commemorative came in specific calibers. For example, the Legendary Frontiersman was 38-55 only, the Legendary Lawman was 30-30, etc. In other words, you won't find a specific commemorative offered in more that one caliber.

                  Beautiful picture.

I was at the range Friday testing new loads for my 32-20. Took the day off of shooting, and fished the North Fork of the Boise River yesterday. Caught a bunch of fish, and kept two for dinner. It was a beautiful day to be in the mountains.

Well sir I believe you are correct. And I believe this one is pretty cool, 16.5" and some brass and checkering with a pretty crescent stock.

Hey Ernie if you are interested and he still has it I'll get you in touch, or else if I happen to buy it I'll send you the going rate for that ammo.

So I put a few rounds thought the new RIA 1911 compact model yesterday. It has a really nice trigger and surprisingly I had only a couple hiccups. It's still really tight.

I'm not much of a "break in" believer but we'll see.

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Can't quite tell from the pic if that's an Officers' or Commander-length barrel/slide... but, either way, remember, 1911s are lube hogs.

Best when new like that to run them almost wet w/ 30 wt. (or your gun lo0b of choice - John Moses Browning once replied to the question, "What's the best oil for my pistol?" with, "30 weight motor oil".)

I use a blend consisting of 50% Hoppes Gun Oil and 50% Motorcraft 5W-30 Synthetic Blend motor oil. The formulation adds just a bit of slickness to the overall deal. Either way, 1911s don't like to be anywhere near dry.
