I'm not doubting you guys do great work with SSE. My buddy Dave has done 2 or 3 STI's thru you guys and I reffered him to you guys. I've reffered quite a few California USPSA shooters and buddies to your shop.

But, when it came time to do my SSE; the person I spoke to who was handling SSE; didn't instill confidence with me. I wanted to do a STI Perfect 10 (10mm 6" pistol) and he told me he wasn't sure if your SSE barrel would fit and this and that. And then said he would have problems with the sse transaction if the barrel wouldn't fit. Funny thing is you guys have already done 2 of Dave's 6" STI Eagles. But, you guys might have an issue with mine just cuz its a 10mm ???

We aren't talking about kimbers and springfields here ... This is a $2500 dollar pistol and I can't leave it to a bunch of what if's... And if your guys don't know that a 40sw and 10mm barrel are the same except for brass lenght. Then that didn't distill confidence in me to have you handle a $2500 dollar pistol and possibly have it sit there in limbo or worst sent back to the retailer ( was which I was told in worst case scenario) by the person handling my call...

PS. I apologize but I'm not doing this to flaming or starting trouble... I just felt that the person I was speaking too on the phone didn't handle my questions with care and just wanted to get me off phone...

I believe it used to be Cal-Arms, which is located near Ontario Mills. As far as Cal-Arms goes, see the post below:

Just FYI for anyone looking to have Cal-Arms do a SSE transfer.

The person you you were taking to wasn;t concerned with the caliber of your handgun. We are fully aware that 10mm and .40 cal are similar in size. The issue at the time had to due with the bushing less bull barrel that you gun has.

If you would like to give us another shot we are open to most all 1911 style pistols. $4000 custom Les Baers and $3000 STI Trubors come through here all the time. We handle our SSE's with the best possible care.

I just finished my second SSE gun through Ryan at Table Rock Arms. I recommend him to anyone looking to have a SSE shipped to their local FFL that will receive it. He is great to work with.

I'm looking to SSE a Sig 226 Elite variant. While I think I can easily get the barrel taken care of (just send a spare to a friend to weld an extension), I have yet to find longer grip screws.

So far I've heard that Sig P239 screws are longer than P226 ones (and fit the gun of course), but are they long enough to prevent removal/insertion of a magazine?

My LGS does not do conversions, but will accept transfers of already converted guns.

I cannot make an SSE gun, but I'd be happy to transfer one in East Orange County.

Good to know. I have a question for you. I checked your website and this is what I saw for fees:

I don't see the DROS fees listed anywhere. Does the $45 cover the DROS too?
                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Those are plus DROS and applicable taxes. I am still working on getting the web page finalized.

Ryan just did a M&P9 5in PRO for me. Excellent service, fair price and outstanding communication. Highly recommend him to anyone needing SSE.

Can pistol with threaded barrel be brought in under SSE like HK Tactical or MK23? Thanks

Looks real nice. Kind of badass like you could save bullets by beating the badguy up with it. I like the grip & mag release. Reminds me of the PPQ that I want from Walthers . Straightline Tacticle is right around the corner from where I live. Good to know.

Roster regulations and AW regulations are different. You can exempt guns like the HK Tactical/FN Tactical/MK23/etc. in the normal manner, but that doesn't mean you can have the threaded barrel installed in the gun. You will have to buy a regular barrel or permanently remove/cover the threads on the threaded barrel if you ever intend on converting it for normal use.

Summary of threaded barrels + handguns:
Threaded barrel + semi-auto pistol that uses detachable magazines = illegal [PC 30515(a)(4)(A)]
Threaded barrel + semi-auto pistol that uses a fixed magazine = legal
                              Threaded barrel + single-shot pistol = legal
                              Threaded barrel + lever-action pistol = legal
                              Threaded barrel + pump-action pistol = legal
                              Threaded barrel + bolt-action pistol = legal
Threaded barrel + revolver = legal

EDIT: NVM, saw that Table Rock Arms will do those conversions.

FFL's in my area won't do SSE conversions in shop, though they'll transfer guns received in that form (unless I convince them otherwise). Is there a "middleman" I can have my off-roster handgun sent to get changed to SSE status? I won't mind providing the parts and paying the shipping along the way. I don't mind if said middleman is out of state or in state.
