I went to Cal-Arms in Ontario today after the gun show to ask if they could do some SSE transfers and they said "No, thats just a way to bypass the law and we need no problems from the ATF". Even though I explained to him it was legal he wouldn't budge on handling a transfer even though they have a manufacturer's license. They also would do a conversion. Just FYI for anyone looking to have Cal-Arms do a SSE transfer.

Yeah I don't know what happened. The first time I went in there the owner told me that he would do them and everyone that has gone in there has gotten the same result you have.
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Theres a reason why Cal-Arms has been removed from the List on the first post.

I spoke to my LGS, and they indicated part of the key was being a weapons manufacturer - which allowed them to modify anything and manufacturer a single shot version. I was told if I was willing to pay the gun-smithing fees, they would do the work on anyhting I arranged to be shipped to them.

That's how I'm getting my Kriss Vector SDP...they added a "bullet button" and single shot magazine to make it SSE....DROS and 10 day jail time starts on Tuesday :-)

Not only was Kenny a stand-up, honest seller with great communication and fast shipping, but his price on the Valor was $150 cheaper than Buds! Kenny has done many transfers to Valkyrie and before purchasing with him I called Valkyrie up and they confirmed smooth transactions with him.

Speaking of which, I also want to mention that the folks over at Valkyrie Arms are top notch. They are down to earth people who never once gave me that 'greater than thou' attitude and were more than happy to explain the SSE process to me.

Both Kenny Hamerman and Valkyrie have earned my business for some time to come. I'll also be donating to CGN as if it weren't for this forum I'm sure my Valor wouldn't have been possible.
I have to give a recommendation for Kenny Hamerman as well. He found me an HK p30 and was really quick on returning emails as well as shipping my gun off to Ryan at Tablerock the morning I had transferred him the money. He specializes in Colt and Dan Wesson 1911s but can find many other guns you might be looking for.

And since we need all the california friendly dealers we can Id recommend putting him on the list for off roster firearms

Looks like I am going to be heading over to DAS soon (probably not as soon as I would like). This was a great thread as a couple of the 1911's I wanted are not on the list.

Is it me or does all this just seem like a lot of hassle that our overburdened legal system is applying to again, jack up the regular law abiding, tax paying citizen?

This is a database thread, not a whiny off-topic political rant thread. Thanks.

Doing another pistol with Ryan @ Table Rock Arms... My third sse thru him.

Wished DAS was as easy to deal with; as Ryan @ Table Rock Arms. But, I was told too many what ifs by their sse guy. That turn me away from doing it with them. My buddy has been successful with DAS though and has done 4 STI's thru them.
