Called to add a new gun to my permit. Had to make an appointment over a month out.
I thought they would say sure come on in. But that is not the case. Oh well it's only a little bit of time.

I just went in and did it. No call and no appointment. Took all of 5 minutes. While I want to be patient and respectful, I didn't see anyone in that office that had even the slightest sense of urgency.

I take that back... Looking back at it, they were actually pretty attentive and moving along at solid pace...

130 days waiting for me. I thought the max by law was 90 days. I swear that's what I was told when I went in.

Edited to add: I was told by a gent today at a local shop its been 7 months for him. He must have applied before all this started I am guessing.

90 days or 30 days from when they get a reply from doj which ever is longer. I'm on day 113 now

I recently needed a document from Sacramento CA DOJ. Paid my 20 bucks and it took two months to receive. I would have to imagine that it would take the same two months for the SO to get their reply from the DOJ as well. With that being said, 90 days should still be practical. Not 5 or 6 months!

Or a letter on day 90 stating we are still waiting to hear from doj if that is the case

                    I'm at 122 days.

I called 6-8 weeks ago, and was told that they had my DOJ info & that my application was sitting in a pile waiting for an investigator to pick it up.

I would totally appreciate a letter from the SO stating that they have my DOJ paperwork and that things are moving along. Slow, but moving. Communication is key! One simple generic letter, where all they have to do is type in a name and address would be quick and easy for them. Heck, it would take less time than answering all the calls about the status of our application!

I just found out that a guy I know (applied on 4/9) got a call a couple days ago. The investigator had a question about his application, and it's still being processed. So yeah, they're still working on 4/9 applicants, like they have been for the past 2 months...

I just got a phone call from San Joaquin Sheriff's Department. He said he had a couple questions and would be submitting for final approval in the next few minutes. He said I should get a call later this week. Looks like they finally finished interviews from 4/9. My interview was on 4/18.

Do we dare ask what questions they are calling with?
