I just looked at my DROS papers and the two SSE pistols I put on the permit were both DROS'ed in their actual calibers (.45 and .380) so I can't say other than they did not raise an issue with them being SSE. I do not think you can vol-reg a gun you already have to change its status but I do not know for sure.

Yeah mine is drosed as a 25acp. Not sure if I qualify with it in.45acp and hand them all the info if they will add it to my permit.

If anyone has a sse pistol that is drosed as multi or something different than what you will be shooting lets hear if you had any problems with it going to your permit.

For anyone who hasn't done their training yet, I just finished a course from Valley Defense, in Modesto this weekend. Very good course at a nice facility. They provided great info and did a nice job of working with less experienced people, and also still making it interesting and challenging for those who were better shots. Look them up if you're still needing to do your training.

I only looked at a couple of places, and actually I think these guys were just slightly higher. They were recommended to me by three different gun shops, so I figured that was a good endorsement. The owner Vince is a Gunsight trained instructor who has run the firearms programs for Stanislaus County Sheriff and Modesto PD. Real-world experience from a guy who has done it for real.

Most of the ones I found were 250 and 25 for each additional gun so 300. I went with California security training academy they were 115 and 10 each additional gun so 135, the class was great, it is on Freeport near executive airport in Sacramento.

My wife and I used WTS in Sonora. Prices were very reasonable and the training was great. They gave individual attention where it was needed and those people's growth was easily visible afterwards. It is a husband/wife team and they are really nice folks. John was a Tuolumne County SWAT member for over 20 years, so he knew his stuff.

We plan on taking a couple of their advanced courses in the Fall.

Yes, on more than one occasion. They say it is still on the background investigators desk and when I leave him a message he doesn't return my call.

My appointment is tomorrow and I don't have any bills in my name for the house. Is there anything I can use besides utility bills for proof of residency? When I bought my last handgun I was able to use my BSIS issued guard card with my home address matching my DL.
                      Any advice?
Also the only vehicle reg in my name is on non-op so not really a current reg.

You should be able to use your lease agreement if you're renting.

As long as your drivers license has your current address, they will not ask for any other proof of address.

                            Awesome, thanks for the info.

Actually, I don't think that's correct. When I interviewed back in April they required drivers license plus two other proofs of residence, which in my case were utility bills. However I would think that if you have a rental or lease agreement dated fairly recently they'll accept that for now. Your application probably won't be processed for at least 6 months, so you'll have plenty of time to get utilities established and turn in supplemental documentation.

My adress is not correct on my drivers license and my cars are not registered to my physical adress. I brought in my city of lodi bill (electric water sewer and garbage) along with my p & bill (just gas) and my at&t uverse bill (non movable tv and internet) they said it was more than they needed. I interviewed may 9th and have not heard a word. If they needed more I think I would have heard by now.
