I understand that the state laws exempt permit holders from having to obey "no firearms" signs and the gun free school zone act but those are listed as additional restrictions on the SJ application. It also says you can't carry where prohibited by local, state and federal laws and by that I would assume city ordinances like prohibiting firearms in parks apply.

Hate to be a downer but just wanted to make sure everyone was aware. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Those restrictions are not binding in terms of permit validity in those areas. All that really does is gives them cause to pull your permit if you get caught carrying in any of those areas. Unless a restriction is actually on your permit, it is not binding. For example, I work at a school; if I were to carry at work and get caught, I would loose my permit and could face disciplinary issues with my employer, but I would not have technically broken the law. To me it is not worth it and I have no plans to carry at work even if I could (without getting in trouble with the district or loosing my permit). Besides, I made an agreement with the sheriff and I am a man of my word.

Here is the code for restrictions. Seems to be another 'gray area', since the code says any restrictions must be "indicated on any license." Since they aren't indicated on the license itself, I believe the consensus is that you could not be charged for a crime for violating the restriction, but the county could revoke your license if they wanted to since they did make you sign that paper. Who knows

26200. (a) A license issued pursuant to this article may include
any reasonable restrictions or conditions that the issuing authority
deems warranted, including restrictions as to the time, place,
manner, and circumstances under which the licensee may carry a
pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon
      the person.
      (b) Any restrictions imposed pursuant to subdivision (a) shall be
      indicated on any license issued.

I agree about not being charged with a crime and was making a reference to other ways to possibly lose your license.

My interview was on 4/18 and still no call. I have called them twice in the past 2 months, I think it is time for a follow up call for the month of September.

Just called told her my interview was May 9th she didn't say when in April they were working on but hopefully not to long about three weeks if I was May 9thThen asked me if I had completed my class yet when I said yes she said perfect you'll have yours the same day we call you.

Hopefully three weeks holds true if so we should be seeing a flood of approvals on here soon

Interview on 2/28, still nothing. Granted, my Livescan took almost 2 months to get back from the DOJ.
