I just called professional standards to see where they're at. She said they're still working on April 10 or 11. Apparently at that point in the month they were interviewing up to 24 applicants per day, so while the calendar progress seems to be moving slowly they're actually moving through a lot of applications. Contrary to rumors, they haven't stopped issuing after the election. They've also interviewed a couple of additional background investigators and are completing the paperwork to bring them on board, which will speed up this process as well.Comment

As was mentioned earlier in either this thread or the other San Joaquin thread, if we make an issue of the 90 day rule, an easy way to speed it up is to start denying everyone. Behind the faceless veil of "professional standards" are real people who are probably extremely overworked and are doing their best buried under a mountain of paperwork.Comment

I am sure their was a flood of applications I am going to wait till day 91 and call for a status check. At that point I will wait till day 121 that is the lo gest feasible legal day I will be calm and polite the entire time. Last thing I want is to pass them off. I know they are real people with real jobs and lives out side of work I would get upset if someone pushed me past the realm of my job. I hope they have hired more people he'll that's what our applications fees are fo, the real cost of processing the application at 97 per ap if someone does 4 apps per day that's just shy of 100k per year that's pretty good pay in my eyes.Comment

I have no doubt there are background investigators, interviewers, and others who are working very hard, however, when I went in to add my third serial number, I was told:
everything is done on your application, we are just waiting on the sheriff, he is currently working on applications from 4/7
This was two weeks ago, today we here they are currently working on applications from 4/10, that's 10 business days to process 3 application days.
At that rate, we won't hear anything for another 20 weeks (4/28 = 12 app days = 40 business days).
Seeing people getting approved a couple weeks ago that had 14 weeks, 1 day, I started to get relieved and excited, now seening closer to 17 weeks, starting to get frustrated again.Comment

My only guess is that the sherrif is going over everything the investigator said and not just taking their word for it. Which with how much other stuff I'm sure he has he may only be doing one or two per dayComment

I wonder at what point they slowed down how many applications they took per dayComment
