They send the forms to your employer, employer sends it back. My employer only verified I was employed and noted that all other info is confidential. They took that. Technically, if you are furloughed, you are still employed by them. Stop worrying and fill everything out. You will be fine.

They shut down the academy last week because over 30 trainees tested positive for the rona. Since that is where the training and range are, I doubt it will be anytime soon.

Has anyone received an update on their renewal paperwork?

I was able to walk in and submit my renewal paperwork last Friday. I'm booked for a September safety class, which is TBD pending CA status at the time. They intend to hold an actual classroom session unless it's still bad with the virus. (at which point we'll probably do the video thing) Range dates and times are still TBD and they mentioned they will be in touch. Also....I love our SBSD CCW staff. Even with all this crap, they are still professional, polite, efficient and friendly. I made sure to thank the kind lady behind the counter.

Hopefully processing can be completed or updates given..

Counties like OC, Solano, Tulare, and even cities like Murrieta are being processed and completed in less than 6 months for both initial and renewal permits

Ha! My initial application was October. Interview December. So theres gonna be some backlog for the class, whenever those start back up. I wish SB would allow private course and qualification, even it was only temporary during these wild times.

On the other note, I have the shield and love it. Its more slim than the 26 so its more comfortable to tuck in the waist.

Yes, that would really clear up the backlog! Hopefully we can get the ball rolling soon here.
I will be picking up a shield tomorrow after calling about 10 local shops. Everyone is out of stock!

I have my initial interview on July 8th.

Had my CCW in OC and moved to SB recently. Sloooooowly been going through the process.

I just saw this posted on the Facebook group for the San Bernardino CCW information.

Starting July 7th you are able to go to Apple valley gun club or Prado Olympic shooting range to requalify for all your weapons.

Self defense/personal protection is good cause.

Don't just put self defense personal protection. They want you to write 3-4 sentences on why you feel you need to be able to protect yourself.
