      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

        Any tips or recommendations besides hit the target where you are supposed to?

            Thank you!

            Also, you are scheduled to be there from 8 AM to 5 PM;

            1. Does it usually go all the way to 5 PM?
            2. How much time is in a classroom vs the range?
            3. What target is used on the range?

            Sorry for all the questions but thank you again.

              Really the best tip I can give you is to relax and have fun.

              Nerves will get the best of you.

              The deputies there really want to be there and really believe in the program. They are not looking to fail you.

              They are really looking for how you pay attention to directions. They are looking for how you handle your firearm and how you handle the reloading. Don't get me wrong; they are also looking at where your bullets go. So it's really a mix of things.

              But as for the shooting part it's not timed. You aren't in a race to finish. Take your time, breath between every shot and no jerking off on the range (military joke that you should get).

              If you relax and have fun and trust in your shooting you'll be just fine.

                2 Questions;

                If you only have one handgun ATM would starting your Application be worth it? or should one wait until one has at least Two handguns? (one is none, two is one.)

                Secondly, The Ruger LC380... if you got the Caliber conversion kit could you have it on your CCW?

                  Huh?

                  What matters is the guns you own and qualify with on your range date.

                    ATM=At The Moment?

                    Can only carry in the caliber it is DROS'ed as is what I have been told.

                      gottcha on the conversion =(

                      Huh?
                      I'm asking if I start an application now. i put my Serial on the application of the one gun I own. this process apparently takes a year... So i know later in the year I'll be purchasing a second handgun. Would i be able to add it before the qualifying? Or would i be stuck with the initial one gun for the application process and then... the two years of the permit?

I know later this year ill be getting a second handgun that i can carry. would i be able to add this to the application before Qualifying. or would i be stuck with the one gun I put at the beginning for the application process and the duration of the permit?

                          Notpc is correct. They will only list it in the caliber that it was DROSed in.

                          Now! If you pawned your LC while fitted with the 9mm slide and barrel, it would be DROSed as a 9mm when it was returned to you.

                          That is if you would rather carry it as a 9mm.

                            Correct.
                            There is no provision for multiple calibers.

                            I am curious about 38/357 though. I would assume that my SP101 or M&P 340 would be listed as 357.. but would there be any issues carrying 38?
                            Particularly with the M&P, after putting 10 rounds of 357 through it, I will never do that again, so at some point in the future if I do add it, I would be qualifying and intending to carry with .38.

                            SP101, I'll shoot 357 out of that all day.

                              You need to list at least one handgun on your application.

                              When you get to your SBSD CCW range class, you can amend it by changing the handgun and/or by adding more handguns.
                              ^This is when your handguns get finalized for what will be listed on your permit.

                              The handguns need to be registered to you in AFS and must be in the same caliber that is registered in AFS (what it was DROS'd as).
                              ^AFS check is last step on if your handguns will be approved. Any discrepancies (serial number not matching, caliber not matching, etc) can cause your handgun to be rejected.
