Nope.
They will want to see your name on a rental agreement, mortgage statement or property tax bill.
Those are the primary proof of residency. The others are the secondary proof of residency.

My wife's not on the deed. We had a letter notorized me stating she lived with me. And our deed to prove i lived there. Maybe that'll work. Gotta be thorough.

Keep in mind that monkey business on residency is the #1 reason for SBSD CCW denial.
A LOT of people live in LA and want permits, and a lot of them own cabins in the mountains, or are not above "renting a room" <wink wink> from a friend who lives out here.
Crap like that makes it harder on those of us who are legitimate residents of the county, and it makes it extremely difficult if you are legitimately renting a room from a friend, living with your folks, etc...- Rich

Years ago one of the Detectives doing renewals shared a story about a applications address being very familiar to him. The numb-nuts box was using a box at Mail Boxes Etc store. The Detective had the box next to his!Keep in mind that monkey business on residency is the #1 reason for SBSD CCW denial.

Did he knock on the box? Maybe the applicant didn't require a huge living space?- Rich

They didn't ask me to get my signature notarized. That would be worthless, they wanted the property owner's signature notarized. I had to be with the owner getting the rental agreement notarized. Hence the reason I am 100% positive that I had to have it done and I am 100% positive that I am not confused, as you stated. It seems to me that you cannot grasp that not everyone has the same exact experience as you. Maybe instead of calling a group of people confused, you could explore the possibility that you are the one in the wrong and the department requires applicants to get their rental agreements notarized under some circumstances (e.g. rent from friend/family/aquintance or utilities are included in rent or your roommate wont let you put a utility in your name, etc etc.)Last edited by gwolff; 05-17-2018, 8:41 AM.Comment

The other person said he was renting from family and had to have his notarized. All I said was that I had to have my rental agreement notarized.
I would say it is confirmed that notarization is required when an applicant has a personal relationship with their landlord.Last edited by gwolff; 05-30-2018, 12:46 PM.Comment
