I have a mobile home at the river in San Bernardino that I go to often. I live in LA County and have a good cause but LA County won't even give me an interview. I'm thinking about applying in San Bernardino because I'm at the river a lot. I have an AZ and Utah CCW. Do you think SBC will give me a CCW?

I was so excited when Deputy Yezzo called Thursday! Went right down after work and picked my CCW up. Started with my Interview on Jan. 28, 2015, ended July 9th. Went to the Sheriffs class on May 2nd and the range on May 20th. All in all, pretty painless.

Yeah this make no sense. But looking back on the post the RSO CWW post was in 2015. He could have moved to LA and trying again with San Bernardino. Would put him around the 2 year renewal process and he can no longer go through RSO.

They were down to 3-4 months up until the Peruta ruling. The publicity from that pushed them back up to 6-8 months (and Kamala delaying Livescan results), then after the Dec 2015 attack, everyone jumped.

SBSD also had a big recruitment drive in 2016, which increased the workload on the department.

We've been seeing interview dates move up over the last year, and when Kamala left Sacramento, Becerra released 400 approvals that week.
That hammered the range, so range dates were out 2-3 months (in addition to Captain Marhoefer's retirement, eliminating the 40-80/month at AVGC).

Looks like they're getting caught up.

Three (3) to 4 months? My app was submitted in mid-July and my initial interview is not scheduled until Feb 2018. Are initial interview dates ever rescheduled to be earlier than the original date given?

I've seen it before. Some of those who live in Rancho Cucamonga have gotten earlier interviews in Rancho and I think it's happened for someone who's interview was in San Bernardino.

The waiting is the hardest part. I recommend treating it like a pot of boiling water. You know, a watched pot never boils.

Spend your time shooting and looking for that perfect carry gun and set up.

1. Applied in mid Feb.
2 Interview was set for mid October BUT changed to July 5th!
3 Neighborhood check July 19th.

*Initial* Peruta ruling in 2014... when the 9th actually told California agencies that they had to accept "Personal Protection" before it was overturned en-banc last year.

Now that they seem to be getting caught up, it's something we might see.

Currently, modifications are only done at the time of renewal... been that way since mid-2015.
They used to allow one modification and suggested that it be near the 1-year point.
