My current two guns are probably older than most of the members in here. Off Roster but on my CCW for 20+ years.

All of my guns are off roster.

They don't allow guns listed as single shot pistols. If you have any SSE bought guns that are still listed as SS you'll need to get them listed as semi auto. The easiest way to do that is with a pawn return.

        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

so an SSE listed as 25 cal will not fly. my FFL says I can DROS it to myself and correct the caliber.

Correct on the 25 ACP single shot pistols.

As for the way you correct it is up to you. I am not sure how you would dros it to yourself. That's between you and the FFL doing it. The easiest way I know how to correct it is by doing a pawn return.

Please provide details! How are the pawn returns handled?

Go to a pawn shop that deals with firearms. Take out a loan with your SSE gun as collateral.

Go home and think about how much you miss your gun.

Go back to the pawn shop the next day. Repay the loan you have with them. At this point the pawn shop will start the DROS process. They will enter the information on your gun exactly the way it is now. Wait your ten 24 hour waiting period and go pick up your semi auto pistol.

Like I said before, I don't know how that is done. That's between you and the FFL doing it.

Aren't there fees to the Pawnshop over the DROS fee?

                              I'm sure there are.

But there would be fees at a regular dealer too.

I can't think that you could walk into a gun store and say I need to DROS this to myself to fix SSE issues. Here's $25 for the DROS thank you for your time and trouble.

Surely they will want something for their time and trouble. I'm just not sure how they would do the transaction. Is it a PPT or something else?

You (on paper) pawn it, and then immediately pay off the loan, so it is DROS'd back to you.

In practicality, it goes into the pawn shop's safe for 10 days, but you are never actually given a "loan"... it's just processed as such.

                                So it'll be $25+fee and 10 days.
