I think if no one knows what happens with an unresponsive employer I'm going to be the guy that finds out. Between sloth, laziness, and pure hatred for all things 2A, there is about zero chance my employer will respond to any letter from SBCSD. I told them in the interview that my employer is not likely to respond (they'll probably be hoping they can delay or prevent the CCW), but the interviewer seemed unconcerned.

I have similar concerns regarding the employment verification step that it wouldn't get filled out or would cause an unnecessary delay. The officer I interviewed with told me that they would wait for the form for a time and follow up with the phone number put on the form, and if that doesn't work they would contact the applicant for next steps. At least that's what they told me regarding the employer verification step.

              How does it relate?

"I just wanted to ask is it viable to add my first responder job in addition to the whole I want to protect myself and family from criminals when out in public for CCW good cause?"

              - How does your profession relate to your good cause? Can you carry on your job? Will your employer allow you to carry on the job? Are you concerned that one of your clients from your first responder job could become a threat to you personally outside work? Is there any evidence to support that kind of threat?

Hi everyone, so today I submitted my application for the SB ccw, as well as my Arizona non resident permit.

Question about the San Bernardino documents: Was I only supposed to fill out the online application and select my interview time, or was there any other document I had to submit online, specifically the employer verification? Is that document one that I fill out by hand and turn in on interview day, or do they mail out their own based on the employer info I provided on the app?

Please PM with info so I'm notified faster

                Thanks in advance!

Didn't they tell you in class that the preferred method of communication is via email? If you are a newby, consider yourself now informed.

That "no answer as usual" quip in your email is boorish and likely insulting to a woman that works very hard for the benefit of all permit holders, existing, potential, and future. You owe Sarah an apology.

I printed my CCW paperwork earlier today and will be finishing my online application ASAP.

I just wanted to ask is it viable to add my first responder job in addition to the whole I want to protect myself and family from criminals when out in public for CCW good cause?

I was also thinking of taking a local Utah/AZ CCW class next month. Hopefully that helps me when and if I get an interview.
Your first responder note is pretty vague, which leads me to believe you are trying to make it out to be something it is not. That is a poor start for a good cause. I suspect you meant to say you work for a tow truck company, ambulance service, news agency, or security company, right? If so, all of those more than likely will prohibit you from carrying on the job or premise, thus how does adding that help your case? Likely, it doesn't or may weaken it since ccw is not a permit for armed carry as part of your job.

Dial it back and just state the facts. Bullet your reasons out, one by one, then let the list sit for a few days. Then revisit the list and cross off all those reasons that are not reasonable reasons as viewed from the Sheriff's likely viewpoint. Then, take that paired down list and work it into a good cause paragraph. Let that sit a few days and then revisit it too, and work it over until it concisely states your good cause.

                        Good luck.

And remember, if you apply and are turned down for any reason, on all future applications you will be required to divulge the prior denial. So think it through and answer the question, "Am I truly ready for the responsibility that comes with a ccw permit and daily carry and is there anything in my past that would cause the Sheriff's Department to possibly deny me a permit?"

They do not issue CCW for work purposes, so do not include your work in your good cause. They will already know what you do because your employer is listed in your application. unless your work in someway makes you at risk in your off time.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

Im a little scared of all the new gun owners who feel the need to carry right away. My CCW class was full of people who barely even shot their firearm before. I hope everyone is putting adequate time in training.
