I wouldn't contact them. Once they're able to hold classes again they'll reach out to you.

    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Quick question, can I start the ccw application now for San Bernardino if I don't have the firearm I plan on carrying yet?

I plan on picking it up in the next couple of weeks after I sell another, but with the process taking so long I'd like to get a head start if possible.

      Thanks in advance

You do need to list at least one firearm on the application. It doesn't need to be one that you plan on carrying. When I applied I was busy cleaning my P220 so I put it on the application. It's never been on my permit nor will it ever be.

Im sure there's a ton of GC questions throughout the thread so I apologize for not finding the answer on my own.

For the good cause statement, how much more than "To have the ability to protect myself, wife, and son in the event of an immediate lethal threat" would I have to elaborate on?

I'm fairly new to SB county and don't know if that'll cut it. Never even considered applying while livin in LA county 😂

I'm just a normal dude trying to protect his little family in this crazy world of ours.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

There are reports that would suggest that would work. If they want more than that, they will talk with you about it at your interview.

Can I use a deed of trust in place of a grant deed for my ccw application?

Be more detailed on why you feel there might be a threat.

The following is an acceptable good cause statement for SBSD...

"I desire a CCW permit for personal protection against criminals that may do me harm."

During my 2019 permit renewal class, the above statement is what the SBSD deputies in the CCW unit told us to tell perspective CCW permit applicants to use as their good cause statement.

I know of three people who have used that statement since 2019 and it was accepted as a valid good cause statement. I also used it as my renewal statement in 2021 and it too was accepted as valid.

My interview was in Sept and I'm still waiting. But some else on here already got the call and they interview in Oct.

I wonder what might be causing the difference in time to clear the background check?
