They will arrive close to the expiration date. Normally they don't arrive 2 weeks early.

My apologies if this is subject is posted elsewhere as I could not find it.

Does anyone know what firearm modifications will San Bernardino County- allow to firearms on CCW permit?

For example, are CCW holders in San Bernardino County residents allowed to put an RMR on their firearms on their permit? Are anti-corrosion coatings on internal parts allowable?

I checked their website and nothing is listed in their FAQs section. Even sent an email and got no response.

Read this thread backwards a few pages and you'll find a good conversation about it.

        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Had a gun stolen 2+ years ago.
It was found a year later by a neighboring agency during a arrest.
Want to start the paperwork to get it released but here is the dilemma..
Gun was purchased in 1989 by my husband as a b-day gift for me.
Gun shop is no longer in business (owner died in 1998).
We do not have a copy of the DROS paper work.
          Always listed on my CCW.
Who needs to file the paperwork for return?
Neither of us know who's name it is listed in at CA DOJ!

Have you run an AFS search on both names?

The AFS inquiry will take some time, and you’d have to submit separately for both yourself and your husband.

Since the gun apparently shows on your CCW, and you know which LEA has possession of the gun, I’d suggest you approach them to do a direct inquiry to AFS on the specific gun to determine registration. If the LEA isn’t your IA, you may be able to make the inquiry through the IA.

If they do it, you’ll be months ahead in the process.

                  Thanks
SBSD is my IA. Riverside SO has the gun. Getting any assistance from RCSD has been impossible.

                    MODIFICATIONS TO PISTOLS

So the consensus is that your pistol can't be modified after issuance of permit in regards to RMR, flashlights, lasers that type of thing? I am really surprised about the RMR issue previously stated because many PD's across the country and testing them and authorizing their usage of duty weapons.

There is no consensus on those issues.
6 months ago, everyone would have said "absolutely no issues with any of those modifications"
Apparently, ONE particular person involved with range qualifications has a problem with RMR.

Likewise, lights and lasers have never been a problem and no reason to believe that they currently pose a problem.
Prior to the last couple of months, the only thing that would get your gun rejected was a trigger under 3 lbs, or a gun that malfunctions during the inspection or qualifying.

The reason you did not get a more clear answer is because at this point, nobody is comfortable speaking for the department.

The best answer would be the Sheriff's Department.

Hmmm sounds like they mailed hers when they should have mailed yours.
The normal procedure is to mail them just before your expiration date.
Call Sarah and see if you can swing by to get yours if it is ready.

Since selling my Victorville house we live at separate addresses, we're not married so I don't think one has anything to do with the other. I'll give it until Tuesday or so then call Sarah. I did have a weapon change on mine so maybe that has something to do with it.

It will likely be the one and only renewal, we're packing up and getting out of this dump of a state.

I presumed since I didn't know who Carrie is that you were married, shared a last name and address.
