I'm pretty sure I have all the paperwork. Problem is that I'm not sure where everything is.

Long story about moving into our new house but the short of it is that a lot of stuff is still in boxes.

Certainly not a requirement, just a precaution.
If I found that my DROS did not match, I would run a pawn-and-return if I was still a month out from range, or pick a different gun.

There's still no guarantee that DOJ didn't screw up the AFS entry so even if DROS matches there could still be a mismatch, but it's really unlikely.

Were you on a list to be moved up if there was a cancellation? How did they pick you out of all the people waiting?

I'm not sure why they picked me to call and fill an opening. No waiting list or anything. Figured any sort of cancellation would just be added to availability for someone submittining new application.

They (RC) have a substation there and there has been a couple of residents mention that they will do interviews there.

yeah dont hold your breath dude, i submitted my app in 1/16 interview 10/16 now range date is 7/17. Granted i delayed myself about 2 weeks because i couldn't get back out there to turn in a paper i left on my table on accident before my interview.

Initial qualifying is on the weekend.

At renewal if you want to change a gun the qualifying has been during the week.

My wife said it was a good class, shoot was easy. She had an fte but cleared it no problem. Deputy watched her and said she cleared it perfect. I guess all those range dates and putting her through failure drills paid off. She's happy.

They were very nice and helpful. The last guy to qualify had to shoot at least one gun twice so they had two deputies work with him. He also walked with a cane so one of the deputies carried his range bag for him.
