I too prefer the glock configuration. Don't want to put the 17 or 23 on the permit so I want to get something smaller and something I'm more firmiliar with

My issue with the lack of a manual safety is when reholstering seated in the car after work.
It's all in what you train with though.
The Shield is my primary EDC, and I train operating the safety on the draw.

Better to "thumb off" a nonexistent safety on a Glock than to need to use the Shield and forget.

        Here's some comparisons:

        G26, G36, and G30 slide width, and the G19, Shield, and P380

          my 3 are:
          ruger lc9s
          kahr cw9
          ruger lcr 9mm.
none of which have any form of a safety aside from the lc9 with a trigger, glock like safety, which i personally prefer. Less to worry about or fumble with if the unthinkable ever did actually happen.

            Thats my bedside primary..
            Those are some large guns.

Thought about both the PX4 Storm and the Sig 2022 as my third not every day gun and decided that they were just too big.

My third not every day gun is going to be a Smith and Wesson 908. Just a little bigger than the Smith and Wesson Shield in an 8+1 package.

            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

clip draws are not legal are they? thought you had to have full trigger protection?

I have a clip draw for my shield and haven't heard anything about it not being legal. Are you speaking about when you go to the range or just in general?

I mean to carry, clip draws are just that pocket knife type clip that attaches to your slide correct? I may be mistaken but i thought it was required to have a holster that fully covers the trigger.

I think what you thinking about are wallet holsters.

If you have a wallet holster that you can access the trigger and the gun will fire you have an ilegal holster.

If you have a wallet holster that you have to draw your gun to be able to fire it you are OK.

IMHO I wouldn't trust anything without a trigger guard. Not worth the risk of incidental fire and remember your responsible for every round the leaves your firearm wether it's in a wall, car, yourself and even worse a bystander.

as i mentioned im talking about the pocket knife type clip that just attaches to your slide, i think they are called clip draws but they have zero trigger protection and in my opinion are incredibly sketchy to actually carry with and like said i was of the understanding they are illegal to carry with in ca.

And you also mentioned that you thought that you had to have the trigger covered. Other than the law about wallet holsters there are no laws that I know of that requires you have a holster that covers the trigger.

ok yeah i wasn't sure i heard it from someone somewhere so doubt it was valid information as you pointed out, thanks for clearly that up, but as mentioned by someone else i would not personally trust a holster especially tucked in my pants pointed at my good buddy with no trigger protection....lol
