That's my brother's timeline. He applied 1/1/2016 and was at the range with you. He had his permit the Friday after.

        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I've not heard of many/any who have taken over a year, though some who applied after the terrorist shooting were close.

My total from application to permit-in-hand was 8 months. 3 for interview, 4 for BG clearance, and 1 for range. I applied in mid-2015.
Well, I guess I'm one of the unlucky ones. Applied 4/18/16 and will be heading to the range on 4/28/17. It's been a looong wait. Fortunately the end is near.

Have you been called to pick up your wife's permit?

Nah, sounds like you're right in there with those who applied the same time.

We've seen some reports recently of quicker interviews and approvals, so hopefully things are turning around.

2016 was a double-whammy, with the increase in applicants after the shooting, and they were running a recruitment push. Same people handle new hires.

I am looking into CCW safe and USCCA, Who are most of you using or recommend? Has anyone had any experience with either or in the case of a self protection incident? Thanks in advance.

                          Same here.

USCCA just leaves me with a bad taste.
They are a bit "spammy", and they are doing something with their metadata that is absolutely farming the search engines.
ANY type of search for CCW-related information has them pop up in the top of the listing, and there's information on the search result that looks encouraging... follow the link and it's to their home page, not to the information "promised", and with no way to navigate to said information.

Last year, I made contact, did not subscribe to their mailing list... and almost immediately I began getting almost daily spam emails from "Tim"... ended up making contact with someone who was posting in this forum which lead to a private email convo and my removal from their mailing list.

So I am late getting into the process. I just finished the application and submitted. I am not sure if I have an issue with the appointment process. I picked a date and time and clicked confirm. It had a location for last, first name and DOB but I was unable to enter anything. It would not take any type or highlight. When I clicked confirm, in red letters it said applicantid must confirmed. Is that normal, or do I have an issue and need to call? Just for info, first appointments listed are 12/11.
