I got the call today around 12:30pm letting me know that my card was ready and that I can go pick it up. After 7 months of waiting I was excited to finally go pick it up. Two hours later they call me back that a mistake was made on my card and that they have to reprint it. I asked if they knew when it might be ready and they said maybe next week but probably the week after. Bummer

Does anyone remember what was said in the sbcsd class regarding using +p ammo in your carry guns? Is it ok? I tried calling sbcsd but my calls went to voice mail. Also, anyone who took the class at avgc and has captain Marhoefer email address, can you please pm with his email. Thanks Edward

Yes +P ammo is fine. They just recommend that you carry hollow point ammunition, which anyone in their right mind would recommend.

Are there any recent updates on timelines for you guys?

Im curious to see how long after the residence check were people getting the call that they passed and to schedule a range day.

Also kind of wondering if a residence check is a good sign that the background was passed. My logic is they wouldnt bother doing a res check if the background hadnt cleared yet, but who knows.

So I finally got the call on the 28th!

Timeline:
04/20/15 - Called to schedule Appt. for Interview
07/15/15 - Interview and Live Scan
08/19/15 - Residence Check
10/06/15 - Had to re-submit Live Scan (They said there was an error)
12/28/15 - Received call that I passed background
01/30/16 - Range Day

It's been such a long wait but now that I got the call and scheduled the range day it feels good. So I'm hoping mid Feb sometime I should have my CCW.

That is actually better then I expected considering how many new apps they are taking. I was talking to someone in another county and his Interview date in in 2017

Holiday slowdown.

Give them a call next week. Many people pull vacation time between Christmas and New Years.
I was scheduled on a 10-day on-call to testify at trial on the 18th.
I called that afternoon and the case had been pushed out to March.

I think something is screwed up, the guy above applied 12/22 and got his email to set up his date.. I applied 12/16..

I just called and left a message, doubt I will get a call back with the volume they are dealing with.

Quick question, I removed the magazine disconnect and sear disconnect on my M&P 40c. Would this be a problem if I ever do end up getting my CCW permit?

Damn they must have a lot of Applicants for it to be 8 months out. My interview was only 3 months out when I applied February last year.

3 months held until the middle of December.
When they went to the new application system, dates started showing all over the place.
That one is 8 months out, but a couple of days ago someone got a date in April.
A week or two ago, someone got one in May, a few days before, March.

I'm thinking the April date must have been a cancellation.

My interview is June 8th I applied 3 weeks ago. That's wrong they should give those early cancellations or whatever you want to call them, to the people that applied first. At least send them an email stating they can choose an earlier date.
