That's very low considering that counties such as Orange that have been issuing for far less time (and have had periods of on-and-off issuance) have issued nearly double the number of permits than SB.Comment

Originally posted by chopperjock22First, awesome screen name! I'm going to have to re-watch that movie now.
My wife and I first got our permits a couple years ago, and the HR dept at her job at the time refused to complete the verification letter. They stated they were not allowed (unsure if by law or policy) to answer any questions other than the usual: "Does Mrs. Chopperjock work for you?" and "What was her hire date?" My wife had to have another verification letter sent to her direct boss, who was allowed to answer the Sheriff's questions. Luckily, it didn't cause too much of a delay. If it were me, I'd check with your employer to see if they've received the letter and what the status is.
Last but not least, thank you for your service!Comment

Didn't the OC sheriff just go back to pre-peruta requirements for issue?Comment

Thanks for the support! I confirmed with my HR department that they received and replied to the last verification request. However, I haven't been able to get a hold of Sarah for several days now, though. Going on 110 days since my interview. Nothing ever goes smoothly for me lol.
Said that process normally takes a week or so... it's now been just over 2 weeks, call it a week figuring that everyone took the first half of last week off (and I'm off this week, need to burn 36 hours before the 15th or I lose it)
I was hoping to maybe get into the Dec 12th class and have my permit for Christmas, but I'm not sure that'll happen now.
Do they run more than one class per month?
From previous posts it seems like it's always the 2nd Saturday of the month.- Rich

Pre-Peruta, she was pretty much not issuing and was very tough on renewals.
I really wish Kamala would release the 2014+ stats.
Might need to file a FOIA request to get it.
But I do have a hard time believing that OC is up to 7,000 when they were at 650 on the 2013 stats.
San Bernardino showed a pretty consistent increase of 500 from 2011-2013... from 1600 to about 2500.
McMahon streamlined the process, but that still only resulted in 750 new permits per year for 2014 and 2015.
Yes, San Bernardino is understaffed and could use another 10 people on the team to process the applications, but I have a really hard time believing that OC has been able to process AND APPROVE almost 270 applicants per month for the last two years.- Rich

Yeah because they have two locations. They send some people to Devore and some people to Apple Valley Gun Club. I'm not sure of the dates at Apple Valley Gun Club, but I don't think that class runs the same week as the Devore class.

Being in Chino, AVGC is about 35 miles farther... and this time of year it gets pretty cold and windy up there.
AVGC web site shows CCW schedule as being the 1st and 2nd Saturday.- Rich
