Doesn't sound like they will be offering them any time soon. When i last got a hold of someone for an update they said they'd still be using the paper permits for a while.I may look innocent... Sheesh, I said "may"...Comment

Thought they were ready to issue the plastic ones. Must have to buy some new equipment to make it happen? My God, even the Conservatives are liberal in the messed up StateComment

They do have to have different equipment. They have to program the design to be used.
Also, they do have to get approval from DOJ for their design - they do have to have particular elements on their permits.Comment

Good info Mark.....gives me time to wait and consider what to put on my modification. My God, even the Conservatives are liberal in the messed up StateComment

Any word on SSE situation? I gotan email saying they were reviewing SSE guns but haven't been able to get another response? Can somebody help me understand the re-DROS process? Will it work for SSE? Thanks.Comment

Paper permits probably for renewals only at this time. I'm waiting for an issuance appointment and Amber told me that they will not be offering any issuance appointments until the new card system is up and running -- was told to wait for an email from the sheriff when it is ready.
On follow-up she did not provide a timeline.Comment

Doubtful that they will issue two different permit versions at the same time.Paper permits probably for renewals only at this time. Once the system is in place all issues will be the new versions. Anyone who renews or mods after the new system is in place will get the new card as well.
I suspect a lot of us with the paper style will mod as soon as they open up mod appointments under the new system so we can have 5 weapon permits as well.

Below is an email that I received hope it helps:
Mr. XXXXX,
I am researching the Single Shot Exempt pistols as we speak. I should have an answer soon regarding the ability to include SSE pistols on a CCW. This has been brought to my attention by several people. If we are able to continue allowing SSE pistols, I will remove the language from our written process.
You may do a modification to your existing permit to add the two additional firearms. Please understand that We cannot even begin issuing the plastic cards until January. I anticipate a very high demand for modifications in the coming months. Please be patient as we work through the list.Comment

It looks like the SSE restriction verbiage has been removed from the on-line application... See the attached snap-shot picture of the first cut of the web site!Attached FilesComment

This doesn't affect me because I don't have any SSE guns that I plan to carry but it's great news for those of you that do if it stays this way.
I'm really looking forward to a mod appointment. I'm dropping two and adding 4. I always wanted to list a full size .45 but was afraid I wouldn't carry it most of the year and didn't want to give up the slot.
