Question, shouldn't you already have the gun(s) that you listed on the application because the app. asked for the serial number?
Also, does the SCS has a list of authorized CCW training class vendors?

The guns on permit dont really matter until your final permit appointment. At this appointment, they'll take a look at your gun qual certification and put the three guns listed there on your permit. This gives you some time to buy the guns you want on your permit. I'm not really sure why they ask for gun serials on the initial paperwork. The final paperwork is what they care about.

I dont think sac has a list of authorized training partners. Just check with the trainer you want and be sure they do Sac county and that they know about the special documentation that Sac county requires. Sac isnt like Placer, for example, that has a very short list of trainers that they allow. Hope that helps, correct me if im wrong on anything

As of last weekend, Sac Black Rifle was advertising Sig P238 for $699.99

Ron from armory outpost just said the distributors have been out for a few months.

Thanks for the info. I'm still waiting for the approval from SCS before looking for a class.

Sacramento's requirements are 16 hrs initial (4 hrs renewal) the agency must be recognized by either the California Department of Justice, California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, or Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training. Course of Fire varies by instruction activity.

Some vendors (No preference, just off the top):
Gun Range (NOT the Gun Room): http://thegunrange.biz/sacramento/firearms-classes.php
                  Sacramento Gun Club: http://www.sacramentogunclub.com/pro-training
                  Cordova Shooting Center: http://cordovashootingcenter.com/tra...ncealed-carry/
                  Lagomarsino: http://www.lfiguns.com/#!courses/ca4p

                  Google "sacramento CCW Training."

                  Things to look for:
-What's covered? Some classes are basic (and sometimes folded into the BSIS Armed Guard training, which is irrelevant to your needs), others extend from static firing line shooting to draw from cover and shoot on the move.

                  -Where is the class?
--Some vendors have class instruction on site at a range. Others hold class at one location, then travel to a range.

--Some vendors use the Sac Valley Shooting Center. Lots of flexibility in training, but it's a bit of a drive past Rancho Murrieta.

-Who's teaching the class? Check teaching experience and read YELP reviews.

-What's included in the price? Range fees; targets; ammo.

                  Start your research now.

                  Best.

Congrats, just remember that nobody is looking. People dont pay attention to what's going on around them.

For the HD or the regular, seems steep for the regular.

Says duo tone finish. Model 238380TSSCA. Steep indeed, but I paid a little more for my 938 a few years ago. Another option is the Kahr p380. I think they're still Cali legal. I'd look into the p238, kahr p380, bodyguard 380, and ruger lc380.

The duo finish is the 1/2 steel, 1/2 some other alloy. I went to my LGS and they may be getting some HD's in this month so I will hold out for those. Thank you though.

Looking at the timelines. Looks like it's going to be at least 2 months before I hear about my livescan. This give me time to buy one more gun and sign up for a class.
