Had my Sac Co interview today. Just a couple updates with info I haven't previously seen posted here (apologies if missed):
1) They said, because of issues with the committee meeting to review new applications, they have a current backlog of over 100 applications to review, so it may be up to 3 months or so before I hear anything about a decision.
2) For those who have or have previously had a medical marijuana card, they did ask if I'd ever even applied for a med marijuana card in addition to whether I currently had one and whether I'd ever used an illicit drug before.Comment

Modification changed my expiration date
My expiration date for the last two times was 3/31. I changed my address temporarily in August 2017 and the new permit changed the expiration date to 8/4/19. I find that odd. So when I move back to my old residence before next year, it will change my expiration date again? Has anyone else had this happen? (A couple of years ago, I did a modification on a serial number when my instructor had made a mistake, and exp date stayed the same). Just curious if this the new normal.[SIGPIC]sigpicComment

Since this is peculiar to your permit and dates, the only folks who could give you an answer would be the CCW office. Drop them an e-mail at: ccw@sacsheriff.comMy expiration date for the last two times was 3/31. I changed my address temporarily in August 2017 and the new permit changed the expiration date to 8/4/19. Now when you renew your new 2 year date begins on the date they process your CCW. So you can end up losing those days. Mine had always been Nov 11th, but based upon how tightly you process your renewal you might lose a few days. My renewal this last November ended up being Nov 8th. Cutting it pretty tight to be sure, but I think that's the answer you'll get. Just their new procedural change. Hope it helps explain it for you. It is spelled out on the website.

Persistence paid off! Was able to schedule my late June initial interview to early April. Keep checking back to see if something else opens up.
Ok, possible stupid question. Do I need to bring anything with me to the initial interview since everything is online now?Comment

Blondie's issue has nothing to do with renewal. A change of address bumped the expiration date out. That shouldn't happen (although bumping out...extension...is better than reversal). My expiration date for the last two times was 3/31. I can't find this info online so bear with me.
How long do I have between the time I move and the time I submit an address change modification? Instructions state a bill proves residency but those generally take a month or so in the new home to receive, correct?
Kinda lame because I'm due for renewal in June anyway. It was just an old plywood boat, with a '75 Johnson, with electric choke. A young boy, two hands on the wheel, I can't replace the way it made me feel.Comment

I have a question: When I got my CCW in 2011 all you needed for a Good Cause Statement was "For self defense and the protection of my family". Is this still the case or do they now want more? Thanks for any info. I have a friend looking to get his.Need a Realtor? Contact meComment

Yes, this is still valid good cause (as it should be!).
Can't guarantee that if we don't get Scott Jones elected again in the upcoming Sheriff race.It was just an old plywood boat, with a '75 Johnson, with electric choke. A young boy, two hands on the wheel, I can't replace the way it made me feel.Comment
