Well that was quick. The board met yesterday. An hour ago I got an email that read:
America!!!!!!!!Sacramento Sheriff's Department Concealed Weapons
Your CCW application has been approved pending DOJ/FBI clearance. Please review the two attachments for further information.......
That was super fast.

Took some compensatory time from work. Just got back from doing my Livescan. In and out in 15 minutes. They said it could take up to 120 days but would most likely be half that at the going rate.

Did you get the ATI number from your Livescan Form? If so you can check on two of the three Background Checks, (DOJ and FBI). Should be able to do that on Monday as it usually only takes a day.
Here is how,
If a requesting agency does not have results yet and digital Live Scan fingerprints were submitted, you can use the automated telephone system to check on your submission. The phone number is (916) 227-4557. You will need the following information: (1) your date of birth; and (2) the 10-digit Automated Transaction Identifier (ATI) number that appears at the bottom of the Department of Justice form requesting Live Scan fingerprint background checks. The ATI number always appears in the following sequence: 1 LETTER; 3 NUMBERS; 3 LETTERS and 3 NUMBERS.

I have the form and the info. I'm not all that worried though. I do an fbi background every few years because I'm a school employee.

Uuh yeah, I know all that. Nonetheless it's odd. I've consumed both...40 years ago. And morphine is by far the more dangerous drug. IMO, it's not even close. The difference is that the first drug is a legal drug, and almost all paperwork you fill out will warn about firearms when under the influence.
The latter is an ILLEGAL drug in Federal law, and triggers prohibitions.
Just like alcohol, cold syrup, etc., you have to exercise caution if near any firearm. Critical thinking can be affected when using anything. Got a headache? Whether or not you're taking anything for it, your response to stimuli is affected.Comment
