If you move within the same county that issued your permit yes, and you only have a certain amount of time to do it. If you moved out of that county you have to reapply for a new permit.

I've been lurking here for some time watching all your experiences for time frames for issuance. I just got my final email today. My time frame was:

        6/30- Initial Interview
        7/30- Approval
        7/31- Livescan
9/24- Email Pass DOJ [55 days]
        TBD - Final Issuance

Looks like mine was a bit faster than the 70ish day average, not sure why.

Regardless, congrats everyone and stay safe! I've learned a ton from everyone here and feel my knowledge level of all things CA firearms/ccw has increased hundred-fold in the last few months! Thanks!

On another note, obviously I can go get my permit, but I am picking up one more gun to put on there in about a week. I was thinking of waiting until after I can go get a quick qualification on that gun before I go. Thoughts?

Yes I already did the training, and I unfortunately just moved so I realized I have to wait until I get new bank statements or utility bills in my name first

                At it again.

So some of you may remember me or my thread from a little over two months ago in early July http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1092153 were I was told in my interview that I would definitely be denied if I continued because I had a traffic conviction for failure to appear. It was 6 years and 10 months previous. He handed me back my application and told me to come back in a couple months when it would be over 7 years old and would not trigger an auto denial.

Anyway I was clear to apply as of 9-22-15. I waited until today 9-24-15 in case leap year or some other curve ball came at me. The interview went well IMHO. The interviewer started off by making sure I was completely aware that I was indemnifying (if that's the right word) the county in case of any lawsuits. Basically he broke it down saying "By signing this you are fully aware that if you and the county get sued, you are responsible for paying the judgement against the county". I guess that is what the insurance is for, huh?

Anyway the gentleman was very pleasant. He went through my application with me and than sent me into a room with another gentleman named Dave (he didn't give me a last name). He asked me some of the same questions that the other man asked as well as a few questions about where I had lived out of state and than told me that the decision makers would be meeting on October 8th and that I should expect an email within a week after letting me know if I am tentatively approved by the county.

I think everything should be fine. I have no convictions other than a no contest plea to an failure to appear on a ticket 7 years ago. I was in cuffs at one other time in my life about 15 years ago but I brought in the supporting documents to show that it was a mistake and shouldn't have happened and he seemed to understand the situation and even told me that what happened to me was not all that uncommon and that it most likely will not be an issue. He wrote in a full explanation on the application included that he had reviewed my supporting docs.

The interviewer said that DOJ results/reports were coming a bit slower than previously and that they were averaging close to 120 days now in Sac county. He had no idea why.

My only question is the interviewer said I would be emailed regarding the status of my application after the powers that be meet on Oct. 8th but I don't remember their being anywhere on the application that asked for my email address. I didn't think of it until hours later. Does anyone remember an email line on their application?

Cool!! Now that xtor and I have our CCW's in hand we get to follow you through the waiting process. Feel free to post up anything that you want to talk about, or not choice is yours. I know that talking about it did make the time waiting a lot easier to deal with.

                              I know, right?

I keep checking back to see what others are going through but nothing.

Powers that be meet in 8 more days! So I'm probably no more than two weeks from finding out if I'm tentatively approved by the county.

You will be fine, you did what they advised you to do by waiting until you were 7 + years removed from any issues that you had so you should be good to go.

I cannot say that there is a certain policy but I believe based on what I have seen that they do not notify of approval until 30 days after your initial interview, even if they have met and made their decision already. So expect that E-mail after 30ish days, mine was right on the Money at 30 days.
