I was never arrested or charged with any crime but they made me flle like they were going to come in with a set of cuffs and take me away. I have a clean record not even a ticket since 1998. The first officer seemd to be trying to talk me out of applying the second officer kept digging and digging I understand they really need to be careful who they give permits to but this seemed really over bearing. I was wondering if anyone else had had a similar experience and were you granted a permit? they may have just been probing about some of the issues to see if id get upset? when i applied years ago in Placer it was not a confrontational meeting it was a very pleasant expoerience. I had some tenants who were meth users and every time i tried to collect rent they called the sheriff on me i alwys stayed and spoke to the officers who were great! Maybe the incidents threw up red flags but since ive never been in any trouble with Law enfrcment i thought it was very strange and disconceerting i wont know how things went for a month i belive. has anyone else had this type of experience? my Job requires me to carry a US Government clearance so ive been checked out frequenlty ive had my clearance for seventeen years now. Am i reading too much into this?
I hav the utmost respect for our law enforcment officers and work with officers statewide in the course my job it just really threw me off being treated like that when i came there with the best of intentions i left evtremely angry and really resent being treated like some criminal off the street.

Nope. It's "have you ever." As in, well, ever. The 5 years is for being a party to a lawsuit and DMV stuff (accidents, infractions).

You must reside at an address within Sacramento county, which includes Sacramento city, if that's what you're asking

As a recent recipient of my Sacramento county ccw, I recommend you tell them who ou spit on in third grade, THEY WILL ALREADY KNOW PRIOR TO YOU SHOWING UP, it's an Integrity principle! Also don't get offended if you have issues from your past and they call you to the carpet on them, getting offended is the quickest way to talk yourself out of your permit. When I went for my issuance, another guy was there for his issuance , he had his *** on his shoulders and was told his permit would be mailed. I was polite and extremely patient I walked out with mine in hand. It all about presentation and respect. Above all don't take it personal!

                      RE: Sacramento County "good cause"

Would the following be sufficient for someone who is single?

                      "September 3, 2013

                      Dear Sheriff Jones,

I wish to carry a firearm for self defense.

                      Sincerely,

                      r6533"

                      Thanks.

What type of answer(s) to the underlined portion of the following CCW application question would be grounds for permit disqualification or other negative consequenses?

                          3. Are you now, or have you ever been, addicted to a controlled substance or alcohol, or have you ever utilized an illegal controlled substance, or have you ever reported to a detoxification or drug treatment program. If yes, please explain.

That's hard to answer, it's a self explanatory question! I can not tell you how to
Answer that question, just use Integrity.

Answer as honestly as possible. I told him I tried marijuana a few times back in high school but that was it. Chances are if you go in acting like a saint, saying you have never touched a drug or sipped alcohol they are going to think you're full of it.
