Disclose everything and be honest. Its better to explain the details than to look like your trying to hide something.

Redouble your efforts this week and next. People get schedule changes and have to cancel.

I picked mine up on July 15th, and there were appointments available all day long. Keep checking, you must have missed that day. Also clear your cookies or refresh the page when you check it.....if you just click the bookmark it may display the page as it was when you last checked it.

Well this is a cautionary tale for all you who are in the process of getting a new CCW, dont let this happen to you. Make Sure your permit has all information filled out and double check its correctness before you leave with your final permit. I didn't and you can read it here.
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one." My wife just happened on an appointment today for the 21st. the guns she wants to carry are registered to me. On the app you need to list the guns you want to carry. Do the one she list have to be registered to her or can they be registrars to the spouse ( me)?

I think they have to be registered to her. You can give them to her and have her mail in an oplaw form to do the transfer.

The guns can be registered to anyone I was told, I asked because one of the pistols on my permit is registered to my wife. As soon as hers finishes processing we will both have the same pistols on each of our permits.

I'm filling out the DOJ renewal form, and this may sound like a dumb question, but where do I find my CCW permit #? There are a few weird numbers on the card: CII is a criminal identification number, ORI is sac county specific number that helps them look up livescan info, and the only other number is the local agency number, but I don't think that's it.

Don't worry about it - they will fill that in for you at the appointment.

                        Sac CCW

I found my appointment mid June for July 31. Interview went well and they are very supportive in helping you get your permit, dress nice, be on time and smile. DISCLOSE EVERYTHING ! I had a dui about 25 years and and a 30 day outpatient rehab 7 years ago. I have had a clean driving record ( other than the dui ) and at the end of the interview with the second dective, he asked when my last moving violation was and I told him 1984... He smiled and said things look good. Got me approval emial today ! Disclouser is the key, better for you to tell them than have them find it and you try to hide it. Good luck all yall'

Where is this screen to find when new appointments open up due to cancellations and stuff? I've been looking and looking and can't find anything. The only thing I can find is registering my email for a notification. Any help would be appreciated.

I had my first meeting yesterday re my CCW I was treated like a criminal. I formerly had a permit in Placer county when moving here had to let it expire it was close to renewal time and Sac wasnt issuung permits then.
I was given the third and fourth degree about things that came up IE disputes with fomer tenants in my rental property and issues where the sheriifs dept was called by an ex wife who also put a restraining order on me during the divorce even though i had never laid a finger on her in the 22 years we were together and this was back in 1994. I was never arrested or charged with any crime but they made me flle like they were going to come in with a set of cuffs and take me away. I have a clean record not even a ticket since 1998. The first officer seemd to be trying to talk me out of applying the second officer kept digging and digging I understand they really need to be careful who they give permits to but this seemed really over bearing. I was wondering if anyone else had had a similar experience and were you granted a permit? they may have just been probing about some of the issues to see if id get upset? when i applied years ago in Placer it was not a confrontational meeting it was a very pleasant expoerience. I had some tenants who were meth users and every time i tried to collect rent they called the sheriff on me i alwys stayed and spoke to the officers who were great! Maybe the incidents threw up red flags but since ive never been in any trouble with Law enfrcment i thought it was very strange and disconceerting i wont know how things went for a month i belive. has anyone else had this type of experience? my Job requires me to carry a US Government clearance so ive been checked out frequenlty ive had my clearance for seventeen years now. Am i reading too much into this?
I hav the utmost respect for our law enforcment officers and work with officers statewide in the course my job it just really threw me off being treated like that when i came there with the best of intentions i left evtremely angry and really resent being treated like some criminal off the street.

Stay cool, man. They may have been just trying to rattle your cage a bit. From what I have heard, very few folks actually get denied and if you are denied, I am sure the Calguns foundation would love to hear about it.
I have an arrest (no charges) on my record and I am a little anxious about how they will look at it......my initial appt is set for Oct 3rd. I sure hope they don't give me the treatment like you got. I will post up and tell y'all.
