Just did mine at the Sheriff's station at Promonade mall in Temecula on December 23rd. It was $10. Cash or check only. You have to do it at a Sheriff's station. When you do your interview, the investigator will give you a paper with a list of ALL the places you can do it. It must be one of those Sheriff's stations for CCW. You cant go and do it at a postal annex or other place for CCW.

Just received this email from the RSO.

Your application for a concealed carry weapon license cannot be approved without additional information. This request is routine.

        Good afternoon,

Once we receive the above-requested information, we will resume with the processing of your application

I don't understand, I thought that I didn't have to do the class before my interview? It also states that if no class has been completed, I can schedule one at the interview. That is a contradiction no? Or is this email saying I can't continue passed my interview until the training is complete?

"If Firearms training has not been completed, You can schedule during the interview" This is if you use Ben Clark. You will still need to upload the certificate. They do not do it for you.

          OR

If you plan to do the training before the interview, or have done the training - upload the certs.
You can also use the private training after your interview....

Thanks for the clarification. I am trying to get it done before my interview on the 11th, but with my job it is almost impossible to get the weekend days off without a month's notice. Currently I have an available opening for a Sunday class on the 9th, but another employee already asked for that day. I may have to wait for the weekend after.

I paid $122 and change for the initial application.

I paid $10 for my live scan at the Sheriff station, and yes! All live scans must be done at one of the 8 Sheriff stations that will be listed on the paperwork given at the time of the interview.
Unless you want to call ahead and see if they will be willing to give you the paperwork ahead of time in order to speed up the process, but I doubt it.

My investigator said that I am going to pay $80 more dollars at the end of the process through the same portal prior to receiving my permit. More than likely, this means that the price is going to be around $85 with taxes and everything so I can see where the $95 additional comes from.

I would take my class with Riverside Indoor Shooting Range, you get the class and qual there. It was only $100 when I took it, and my investigator said that it's much better when you take the class and qual at the same facility.

Murrieta PD drops cost of a CCW by almost $300!

Getting a concealed carry weapons permit in Murrieta isn't any easier this year, but it will be a little cheaper by using taxpayer money to pay for some of the fees.

"The purpose of this change was to give back to the citizens of Murrieta for the Measure T tax measure that was passed last year to give us extra tax money for police, public safety and stuff like that," said Sgt. Jeremy Durrant of the Murrieta Police Department.

The fee breakdown before this year included a background check, a license fee, the fingerprinting fee, a psychological evaluation and weapon and safety training. That's a grand total of nearly $800.

But now the city will be paying for that background check, saving people in Murrieta close to $300.

                    <snip>

Durrant says the change will actually help to bring the cost of a concealed weapons permit more in line with other jurisdictions, like the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, which doesn't have to outsource the background check like Murrieta does.

"Other agencies have their own background investigators they can utilize, so there's no extra application fees for those agencies," Durrant said. "As with us, we have to outsource that and obviously charge for that background investigation."

                        About to start the process

Long time lurker first time poster. I am about to start the application and was getting all my stuff together. I noticed that the street address on my truck reg is misspelled so i am going to take care of that first and i am waiting on the 10 day cooling off period for my new edc. My question is has anyone here used the Beaumont indoor range for their class and qualifying? I know it is more expensive than Ben Clark but i have heard that BC is usually booked up now. Also if anyone has any pointers for a new applicant that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Out of curiosity, how long after you submitted your online application did it take for your status to change fro. "Payment received" and getting assigned a processor?
