Quick question. I was on the RSO website and got a little confused on which LTC I was going to apply for. I don't want to end up paying for the wrong one!

Wonder if the people checking the paperwork will be upset if for reason I put

"I feel self defense and defense of my family is the most obvious reason. In a fight or flight situation my flight ability is limited due to a physical limitation so fighting is my best option.

        As an added reason
“Under the current Sheriff, we experience tighter regulations and a two-year backlog on concealed carry permits. When I am Sheriff, I will eliminate the unnecessary wait, modernize the application process, and allow ‘personal protection’ as good cause, essentially using a ‘shall issue’ philosophy to serve Riverside County residents,” said Bianco. Just picked my permit yesterday. If you got back a few posts I had all my dates up. In the end I had to do my live scan again, because it was never submitted. Not sure what happened, but I had to pay the $10 again and I did it at another station the second time. All 3 areas were completed on Christmas Day.

Just applied all online. Kinda nice to do.

                Applied: 01/04/2020
                Interview: 02/11/2020

Should I do my livescan before I do my interview? What should I bring with me to the interview? I was thinking all the paperwork they wanted me to scan in.

I just paid $122 and some change. Reading on the website, it looks like you have to pay $95 for the livescan for DOJ, AND $100 for the Sheriff's fee?

Highly doubtful, since the new law became operational only 4 days ago, that the IA has established (or even calculated) the attendant costs.

Previous statute capped the IA costs at $100.

CA PEN 26190 (as amended by AB 1297-2019)
                  (b) (1) The licensing authority of any city, city and county, or county shall charge an additional fee in an amount equal to the reasonable costs for processing the application for a new license, issuing the license, and enforcing the license, including any required notices, excluding fingerprint and training costs, and shall transmit the additional fee, if any, to the city, city and county, or county treasury.

I don't think you can do the live scan before the interview, you need paperwork to take to the live scan. I don't see why you cant make the appointment for the live scan though. The first time I did it took a month for the appointment. Second time it took a week.

The livescan place I go to is quick and always available within 30 minutes of arriving. I am just curious if the livescan is going to cost me $195 + their fee.

Did you have to do the live scan at the sheriffs department? They do live scans at other places but I was told I had to do it at a sheriffs department. So, there are only like 5-6 in riverside county I think.

$195!! When I did mine after my interview it was $10. I took mine at the Temecula police substation at the Promenade mall. I was lucky enough to walk in right after my interview and have it done.

I haven't done my livescan yet. I can't until my interview since I do not have the information to send it out.

That's where I am a bit lost. In the fee breakdown on the website, it shows that a fee of $100 goes to livescan, and another $95 for the Sheriff. I am looking for clarity on this.
