I sent an email asking for an interview date, and got a reply the following business day. Guns will be banned in Ca by the time my date arrives though!!! Haha

Ha! That was funny! ...but just might happen if Gavin Newsome is elected Gov
What part of the Second Amendment describes the need for a CCW permit?

Either that or California will have fallen into the ocean as so many people in the good states said they would like to see. Isn't it nice to have so many people from the good states backing us up and wishing us well?

Well, at least you'll have plenty of time to figure out what you will say. No sense rushing in there unprepared.

                  AB 466 and Riverside CCW

I have been waiting several months and my CCW appointment with Riverside Sheriff is coming up soon. If all goes well, I may see my CCW toward the end of the year.

When I made my appointment last year, Dep. Aguilar told me that my GC is more than sufficient. So far with a new CCW gun, training, ammo, range time, fees, etc., I am probably looking at close to $1000 for the CCW process. Definately worth it. But if AB 466 passes, did I just waste about $1000?

Is there anyone here who is willing to share their (accepted) good cause statement?

I can understand if it's something too personal but if not, it might help the rest of us out.

It depends on when the new law, if passed, takes effect. A lot of new laws take effect Jan 1 of the next year. Also, it depends on how the IA interprets the new language. These Anti-gun politicians are famous for very vague legislation. This legislation, along with it's sister bill AB540, are advancing under the assumption they will put a stop to money wasted on the "Wild Wild West of CCW's" (seriously, that's what McCartys own website says).

If any of the Anti-gunners published the actual numbers of issued CCW's in the State, it would be obvious that any money spent to issue and "enforce" CCW's is peanuts compared to the wa$te going on in this state.

I have a sure fire way to put an end to ANY and ALL money "supposedly" wasted on CCW's. Make CA a Permitless Carry State. Problem solved Mr. McCarty.

I used my hobbies, off-roading & astronomy for my GC. I go WAY off-road and set up an expensive telescope for all night where there is NO cell service or police assistance. And other reasons too.

I plan on using the same GC but reworded when the time comes.

In the mean time we need to vote out all the anti-gun people and put in anti-crime people.

I got a message saying my appointment will be early March 2019.. yes people you read correctly the 2019! I am not holding my breath. Between now and then, I will have either moved to a county or state that isn't slower than death itself. I understand that it is understaffed but I don't see any improvement in the future. These fools who run the state and ultimately award budgets do not want us peasants to be armed in the public. So why would they fund our only way to do so?

I read a few pages back that I should join the NRA local meetings... I am sorry but the NRA left California behind again. They will not see a damned penny from me ever again.

Don't let initial appointment dates deter you.

They are based on current demand and staffing, and do not reflect the relatively high attrition rates.

Many counties often revise their appointments as actual demand changes and applicants fall out of the process.

Apply and get on with your life....

It is what it is, until it isn't.

I wonder how many appointments they actually go through in one day? I'm sorry to say it but I'm starting to feel as you do. I made one last ditch effort yesterday and joined the FPC. That's probably the last anyone is going to hear from me. It's pretty much starting to feel like a lost cause. I'm 69 years old now. I don't have a lot of time to sit around waiting.

When should I start if my renewal date is June 2017? What's first step? Thank you.
