I considered that as well but then I reread this part "approval, and subsequent inspection"

So it needs to be specifically approved and then inspected which would be separate from simply qualifying with the firearm.

This makes sense to cover you as well because there would be documentation of what modifications were approved at that time so no one can say that you made further unapproved modifications.

I live in Riverside CO, if I got my ffl would that pretty much guarantee my chances at getting my ccw?

I don't think it would guarantee but the fact that you would probably be dealing with holding guns for the 10 day period I'm pretty sure it would help I think they would want to make sure you got a handle on making sure those guns don't go in the wrong hands via robbery or such of that nature you know.
are You trying to open up your own shop or what?

Yes I am. Been wanting to run my own business for awhile but didn't know what. Thought about it & selling guns only makes sense for me. The wife has a bachelors in finance, I have an mba in project management, her family owns a auto mechanics shop so I think we have the tools to get it done. Plus i m a turbine mechanic so I'm going to look into gunsmithing

It wouldn't guarantee you anything, but it would satisfy your good cause. If that's your hold up though, I'm sure you already have a satisfactory good cause that you might not be aware of.

I have a few reasons why but I just want to make sure & list every legitimate reason & not forget to list one
